We need more high-profile games with retro 2D graphics because the shitty sprite comic economy is starving. I've seen what they've resorted to doing with Fire Emblem (2003) sprites. Unnatural things.

I found on a hard drive a sprite sheet from 2007 of my old Sonic OC. I decided to come back to it. It came back to me.
Many of the old school sprite web sites from the 90s and 2000s have vanished into obscurity, but thankfully there are some sprite websites still alive and well! Video game sprites and backgrounds can be useful for a variety of things such as sprite comics, fan games, or just to look at and appreciate the art that went into all these games!
https://www.spriters-resource.com/ One of the biggest sprite sites I know off, and they're always growing! Site may block your IP if you visit with a VPN active, so switch it off if you have any trouble.
https://spritedatabase.net/ Another nice sprite archive, a handy alternative if you don't want to turn off your VPN for spriters resource.
https://www.vgmaps.com/ A site specializing in maps from mostly old school and/or 2D games, all made from the games graphics!

By now, Brickshelf was either purchased or has gone down. I've queued as many good posts as I could find with Brickshelf's search feature.
There will be additional posts of fan comics queued throughout the remainder of 2025. Hopefully there is an archive being uploaded somewhere on the web that may allow me to continue posting, but I'm also satisfied with what I gathered.
I decided somewhere during this blog to start making my own sprite comics. I will be releasing the Bonkle Sprite Kit, which is an extension of the Rayg sprite kit made to feel like Razor's style. A nostalgia fusion style, if you will.
As for my comics, I'll continue to create them, which means the above sprite kit will expand, as well. There's no set schedule for the comics, as it's currently just a hobby. Thank you all for following and enjoying this blog and its celebration of fan art.

We're starting off slow, guys. I promise it's worth it.

Important context for this strip and a few others under the cut, as well as sprite credits!
I wish sprite comics would come back.
Wanna Go Do Something Stupid? The legacy of Bob and George the Mega Man comic strip 24 years later
The year is 20xx. The internet is still exciting, a place where a plucky nobody can create a work of art and share it with the world, no gatekeepers between the creator and audience. The only limits: your ability, your willingness to grind through the writing, hone your art, and figure out how to format a damn table on Geocities or Tripod. Or, if you’re Dave Anez, you realize you can’t draw and…
