And this is the gang now!

As you can see, zucchini completely stole the show, they’re too big already and it's way too soon to transplant, and it happened because I had no idea how fast they would grow. But, they're only two plants, I can pot them up so they're okay for a month longer. I'll transplant one early, and one later, because I only really need one, and I can risk one for early produce.

I had a few tomatoes die on me, and I was so bewildered because I thought, surely we are over 'plants dying for no reason out of nowhere' phase, but, later I figured out why it happened. The early plants were doing great, and then there was a sudden sunny spell outside, and I immediately put all my plants out to bask in the direct sunlight. All of these plants have seen sun before so I thought they'd be fine, but, as it was cloudy for long right before that, and I left them out for 4+ hours, baby tomatoes got scorched. I was supposed to slowly harden them off; firstly put them in sunlight for 1 hour a day, then 3, then 4+. They were not ready for the intense light. So now I am smarter, and this is actually the only reason any of my plants died this year! I've been watering correctly, giving them good soil, keeping them warm and happy. Okay, except turnips, which I sowed in January as a test, and they got out of the soil, looked at me once and went 'What the heck it's JanuARY' and promptly died.

I also struggled with basil a little, I remembered last year I had basil growing in January, so I thought, that will be easy! And I planted it with other plants and then most of it died, and I was all ???? but then remembered that last year, I had them growing on top of a radiator, in a sealed container to keep them hydrated, and I realized, oh, they actually need the heat. So I moved them on top of a radiator and they immediately took off.

plant: you are telling me, that after forcing me to live in that SMALL ASS CONTAINER and thinking all my life I will be tiny and unrespectable, now, now you're putting me into this huge ass wilderness? Where my roots can touch 7 different layers of underground soil?? ExCUse me but I'm about to go FERAL

I'm having the toughest time trying to raise ground cherry, I bought seeds and only got a few, and they struggle to germinate, and even when they do, they refuse to grow, so I'm not sure if I'll have any this year, but I really want them, candy growing on bushes is like a dream come true. Does anyone know a trick to make them grow?

All of my trees are down (looked dead since autumn, don't seem to be developing new leaves and drying out), a single lemon tree started growing a new branch and I knocked it off yesterday, I put it in water in vague hope it would develop roots but chances are small. I felt awful but I'm going to forgive myself.

New tomatoes and peppers and cabbage and basil are growing! I got my hands on some kale for the first time ever, I'll find out what it tastes like! I'm also attempting flowers, dill, purple broccoli, and beets. Everything is growing faster than last year because I am smarter now and know exactly where the light is best in my apartment and how to get them to catch the most sunlight. Here's some of them!
