Came into this totally blind after people were hyping it up when it got announced and I loved the first episode. Despite the title, it’s anything but generic. Slowly builds up to the twist at the end and I can’t wait to see where this goes. It’s a lot more to this story than a simple office romance. Love a good sci-fi mystery.
OP BANGS. Might be best of the season so far? We’ve had quite a few bangers so it’s probably time I start playing AMQ again to flex lol. Reiko’s design is so good too omg the after the rain author does NOT miss with character designs. What a woman.
So right from the start the show kinda beat us over the head with the goldfish symbolism. Goldfish are used as a symbol of bad or short term memory. Not uncommon for office workers to flirt and be close, but Kudo just gave off this vibe of he and Reiko being way closer than they are. I knew something had to be off. The way he looks at her, messes with her, they’re cute as hell but it’s like there’s a history behind his actions.
That reveal at the end!! So clearly something happened to make Reiko lose all her memories. I wonder if it’s related to that Terra earth machine or what. It floating over Kowloon just gives Dead dead demons destruction vibes, like there’s this impending sense of doom. Surely that pharmaceutical company involved too.
THAT KISS AT THE END??! Wasn’t nothing accidental about that, my guy went back for the double lock at the end lol 😂 really excited for this where this goes.

Spring's first seasonal is an all-too-appropriate tale of the seasons gone out of balance, presented with a beautiful and striking first episode.
Trying to stay positive abt the spring anime season so here are some things to look forward to:
3 sports anime, one of them is by MAPPA, so we can expect great animation and the other 2 are actually female led sports anime?? And they are not ecchi?? Is this a miracle?? (Boukyaku Battery, Rinkai! and Ooi! Tonbo)
2 yuri anime coming, yayyyyy,,, (Whisper me a Love Song and The Two Sides of Voice Actor Radio)
2 slice of life anime (Tadaima, Okaeri and Tonari no Youkai-san) + Yuru Camp is coming back (the sole cgdct of the season, my crops are dying)
Also we have a BL, and I need you to brace yourself for what i'm going to say next: it's an ABO m-preg childcare BL (Tadaima, Okaeri)
As for other romance anime we have the Spice and Wolf remake (i'm not sure if it's a remake or a new season?) and i'm also looking forward to Unnamed Memory.
And we have the single shoujo of the season: A Condition Called Love. I've heard great things abt the manga so I hope the anime is good
If i'm being honest tho, spring season looks nowhere near as good as winter did to me
Edit: apparently there is one more shoujo next season but it doesnt sound as interesting lol
