I highly recommend for everyone to ditch whatever music streaming app they're using and switch over to Tidal. Holy fucking shit the audio quality is amazing. I should've switched over sooner I fucking love this
To anyone trying to continue the boycott against spotify, I just found out The Current/ 98.1 has a free radio streaming website. Sure, nothing is personalized, but the spotify algorithm has gone to shit anyways so who cares??
To anyone who isn't willing to give up their playlists, might I recommend getting a good ad blocker? That way you still aren't giving any ad money to the fascists

I switched back to Iheartradio because over Spotify with their AI BS and allowing π§ ads. Plus, I missed these radio stations:

I'll still be listening to Awake Space and Channi's astrology podcast. I'm not a whole sign fan but I do like two whole sign astrologers on TikTok. Even though I think we're more complex than a whole sign chart, they still have great astrology insights. So even if one form of astrology isn't your thing, you can still appreciate their knowledge and I wish more people could understand the complexity of knowing two things can be true. But I digress.
As for True crime, Voices for Justice is my favorite. Sarah Turney lost her own sister and understand the toxic side of true crime because of her sister's case. She has great empathy and passion for this genre and it's so great to see someone do it with integrity. Speaking of integrity, my other favorite is Crimes of the Century because Amber Hunt is another journalist that I respect and see integrity in. I enjoy that she mixes history with true crime. If you know me, you will know how those two subjects are my favorite and to finally have a podcast that intertwines my favorite genres is an absolute chef's kiss.
Anyway, do as you will with my recommendations. πβοΈ
my family is considering switching from spotify to tidal, but there are still a few things we haven't figured out.
one of my sisters likes listening to german childrens' audio dramas (e.g. the smurfs), which are difficult to find on other platforms. my other sister uses spotify's jam and collaborative playlist functions a lot, which afaik tidal doesn't have.
does anyone have any tips/alternatives for us to make the switch easier?

Try amazon music. yeah we all hate jeff's ignorant, balding ass but this is a genuinely good music app
it has all the songs Spotify has and like 0.5% of the ads
You can put songs on repeat w/o premium and you can see lyrics too
until I find something unsupported by Amazon I'm using this
