The following are a few pictures so you can get a feel of Rhodes's vibe ^^

Rhodes is my newest DC OC, though he's based off of a character I saw in a dream a few years back and fleshed out! He is part of a bigger story that could technically find its way out of DC, but for now he stays here ^^

Rhodes Hall was born nameless into a cult operating under the name of 'The Church of the Horned King'. His mother, a woman who only lives under the name of The All-Mother, runs the cult and controls the people's lives who live under her thumb.

The cult worshipped the lord of darkness and destruction, Desolation. Their teachings and lifestyle closely mirror that. The messengers partook in many different rituals, but the cult mainly participated in sacrifices of animals and humans alike, as well as cannibalism and attempting to take over the greater population of nearby Metropolis, wishing to 'spread the word' of the great lord of darkness.

Rhodes himself was born to be the vessel for the god. He was brainwashed and groomed into being the perfect host for Desolation until he was sacrificed in front of the whole cult by his mother at age 7. While this would go on to happen multiple more times, this is the main event that shapes Rhodes's life. This is the event that allows Desolation to begin to take over his body and life.

Because of his ritual, and the god's presence in his body, Rhodes grew large shadow like wings from his back, sprouting from his spine, and a large crystaline formation and horns from his skull, leaving him intense, excruciating pain for the entire time they were there

From the age of 7 to 19, Rhodes doesn't have many memories. He rarely had his own body and had to watch the world, helpless to do anything.

However, a few months after his 19th birthday, in late 2016, the New Order, a group of young heroes, find where the cult is located after years of studying and careful planning, and infiltrate, attempting to kill Desolation and his host.

Constance Rook, a young Gothamite girl operating under the name of Sanctus, the vessel of the god Oblivion's power, finds Desolation and attempts to kill him. Desolation, fearing for his power and realizing that Sanctus doesn't care about actually killing anyone, flees Rhodes's body and leaves him to die.

Tate Kent, the current Superboy, pulls Sanctus off of Rhodes, convincing her and the others to take Rhodes back to their Observatory, considering that he was bleeding intensely from his head and back from where his wings and horns used to be

The New Order take Rhodes back with them, though they all refuse to speak to one another, Superboy being the only one to try and talk with Rhodes, to no luck. For almost half a year after his rescue, Rhodes refused to speak to anyone in the New Order until the others began to warm up to him.

Rhodes eventually began to spoke and slowly gained relationships with the others, though Sanctus, the only one in his group very close to his age, began to form a romantic relationship with him. As much as they both hated it, the two couldn't help but fall in love, bonding over shared religious and physical trauma.

However, getting over religious trauma is... difficult. Rhodes still heard the voice of Desolation in his head, manipulating him and trying to convince him that his friends hated him and that he should come home.

Rhodes did.

He caved and found his way back to the church, accepting the role of vessel to the god again.

The New Order quickly found out and fought to get him back. They were all hurt, obviously, but refused to let him go. They refused to give up on him.

Currently, Rhodes resides with the New Order in Metropolis and helps them with anything they do under the name of The Reaper!

We're still working on and actively writing the New Order's story, so his lore will obviously be updated, but he's one of my favorites, so I needed to share

Rhodes is 19 in The New Order's timeline and the story takes place between 2012-2016. He uses He/They pronouns and is Straight, though he has questioned having romantic attraction towards Superboy (aka his first and best friend)
