Petrarch had become a kind of poetic royalty, honoured in the courts of Rome, Venice and Naples, and Boccaccio, as one of Chaucer's biographers writes, had become Florence's 'cultural spokesman'.

MAGICIAN YIBO
Johannes Holbek (Nov. 13, 1872 - 1903) was a Danish painter, illustrator and writer who studied very briefly at the Royal Academy before going of in search of Van Gogh and Gauguin’s mad visions. He studied in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts with Gustave Moreau and others,
After his return to Denmark he began working for a newspaper, creating satirical drawings, and he also illustrated books, such as the poems of Alfred, Lord Tennyson. He was also working on a hybrid religious and philosophical work in drawings and text, but never finished it.
His Symbolist visions became more and more outré and he seemed headed for a psychotic breakdown, which came in 1903 and led to his hospitalization and death (possibly be his own hand).

Russian opposition critic remains in a coma in hospital in Berlin
Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov proves that he is a charlatan and a hireling with the following absurd quotes:
Dmitri Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, said on Tuesday that accusations against Putin over the poisoning were “empty noise” and “idle talk”.
Peskov wants us to believe that yet another vocal critic of Putin being poisoned couldn’t possibly have anything to do with a man responsible for their persecution.
“We can’t treat as serious the accusations you’ve voiced,” Peskov said during a regular conference call with journalists. “These accusations can in no way be true.”
I have read a lot about statement analysis in criminology. One of the clearest signs of guilt is the refusal to provide a categorical denial, such as “I didn’t do it.” Of course, Dmitri Peskov is a useless stooge, running interference for the Kremlin. But you would think that his superiors would cobble together a more convincing denial than “we” (Who’s “we”? The accusation is against Putin).
Better still, as the leader of Russia faces accusations of (another) attempted murder, why can’t he come forward and categorically deny the claims?
Peskov said that no criminal investigation would be opened in Russia unless doctors identified the specific substance with which Navalny had been poisoned, suggesting it would stonewall such a move.
This of course raises the obvious question of why doctors in Omsk could not have done this themselves. They did, after all, admit that poisoning was the cause, before it became politically necessary for them to deny this. Peskov is saying that he won’t open a criminal investigation until German doctors do what the Russian doctors refused to do for hours.
“Neither our medics, nor the Germans have determined [the substance],” said Peskov. “If the substance is identified, if it’s determined, that it is a poisoning, then, of course, this will be cause for an investigation.”
This is called moving the goalposts. Earlier, he said that the condition for opening a criminal investigation was identifying the specific substance. This means that he acknowledged poisoning as the cause of Navalny’s hospitalisation. Now, he claims in that in addition to identifying the substance, it must be “determined” as a poisoning.
This shows that Peskov is not serious in his calls for medical investigation. He is stalling for time so as to justify delays in criminal investigation.
“You must agree that there are a lot of poisonings every day in any country of the world,” Peskov said. “And here, if we talk about a particular case, we still need to operate with accurate information. I don’t have this data. If you have it, then share it.”
This is called obfuscation. Nobody asked Peskov about poisonings every day, but about the consistent trend whereby vocal critics of the Kremlin, often garning huge public support, are poisoned. The data that Peskov claims to want is implied in the question, and any journalist could have given him a list of names to substantiate the point. Once again, Peskov, acting as his masters wish, is stalling for time.
The international community must put substantial pressure on the Kremlin. Already, the US and Chancellor Angela Merkel have called for a transparent investigation into this poisoning, which coincides with allegations of surveillance on Navalny while he was in Siberia.
Once again, Putin has dragged the good name of his country into a ditch. Watch as he becomes more petulant and brazen when faced with the wrath of the international community. The criminal investigation is only just beginning, and it’s time to hold these would-be murderers to account by destroying their ratings and their finances.
We will continue to pray for Navalny and support resistance against the Kremlin, inside and outside of Russia.
