Summary: Cas is nervous to meet his husbandâs new boyfriend, whoâs a huge wine enthusiast. Itâs not enough that Cas forgets to buy wine, another man grabs the last bottle of his favorite when he runs to the store to get some.
This was written for the @spnpolybingo and for the @castiel-bingoâ.

Cas is standing in front of the wine row of their local liquor store. He knew what he wanted to buy until he got here. Now he's not so sure. There's so much to choose from and he's not a wine person.
There's one brand that he likes, especially their sweet red wine. Thereâs only one bottle left of it in the store, but that's not going to be enough for 3 men. It would be enough to drink over dinner, but Cas is planning to move to the living room after eating to chat with their guest.
Dean is having his new boyfriend over. Cas hasn't met the man, but he's eager to get to know him. The way Dean talks about Benny, he seems like a sweet man. He's also a wine enthusiast, which Cas is very much not. But he wants to leave a good impression on his husbandâs new boyfriend, so he's buying wine.
They've been polyamorous for a few years now. Neither of them is actively seeking out new partners, but when the opportunity is present, they're open to other people. Their only rule is that they wonât bring anyone into their home until it's serious.
The fact that Dean invited Benny over means he's a special person to Dean. Cas is happy for him and he loves seeing his husband being so excited over a new partner, a new person Dean can enjoy life with. Cas hopes Benny has a similar taste in moves to Dean because Cas can't be forced to watch one more Adam Sandler movie in his life.
Cas takes a deep breath as heâs trying to focus on the wine selection in front of him. Nervousness and excitement are bubbling inside him at the same time, which makes it hard to think about wine right now. He figures he can buy something else from the same brand.
He reaches for his favorite first, but the moment he lifts his arm up, someone grabs the exact bottle of wine he wants. He truly has no idea what else to choose if the only kind he likes is out. When the other man lifts it off of the shelf, his hand bumps into Casâs arm.
âSorry,â he says with a quick glance to Cas. âYou didnât want this one, did you?â he asks while holding up the bottle in between them.
âYes, I did,â Cas sighs and lets his arm fall back to his side.
âYou can ask if theyâve got some more in the storage room,â the man rumbles in a smooth cajun accent.
Castiel rolls his eyes, then turns his body towards the man to say, âIâve already done that. Itâs the last one they have.â
âWhy didnât you put it into your basket?â the man asks, looking at Cas with raised eyebrows.
Cas has to roll his eyes again. The man looks attractive enough, but Cas is sure from their little exchange that heâs got a pain in the ass personality. Heâs got a nice beard that looks well taken care of. His body is well built and he has a large hand around the neck of the wine bottle.
Cas pushes the dirty thoughts away before they could distract him. He needs that wine, heâs not giving it to some hottie with the most attractive accent heâs heard in his life. Heâs got a co-partner to impress tonight.
âI didnât want to hold it until I decided what else to buy,â Cas states the obvious. Glass bottles can be heavy, there was no point to make his basket heavy with it when he knew he wouldnât be able to decide.
âSorry, chief, Iâve got someone to impress tonight,â the man says while an apologetic look appears on his face.
âWell, me too,â Cas murmurs under his nose. When the man places the bottle in his basket, Cas turns his eyes back to the shelf. He needs to find something similar. Heâs open to trying new things, but he doesnât want to risk buying something heâll hate tonight. He doesnât want his dislike of wine to bring out their differences with Benny.
âWhy do you need this one?â the man asks, still standing beside Cas.
Cas is getting irritated. The man got his wine, what else does he want from Cas? Itâs obvious heâs not gonna give it to Cas, he has it in his basket already. Their conversation is pointless now. Besides, Cas needs to make a quick decision if he wants to make it home in time.
Cas peeks to the side to see that the man didnât leave. Cas closes his eyes to contemplate his answer, not being sure how to phrase it to a stranger. Opening his eyes to look at the man again, he says, âItâs the only kind I like out of the ones Iâve tried.â An awkward silence falls over them, so Cas keeps talking to fill the void. âMy guest is a wine enthusiast, so I need wine, obviously. Itâs an important dinner for me.â
The man lets out a long exhale while he pinches his nose. Making eye contact again, he says, âLook, my boyfriend told me to buy this kind. I have no idea what else to get, I donât even know what heâs making for dinner. But I could help you? What are you cooking?â
âI donât know, my husbandâs cooking.â Cas is grateful that the man is trying to help, but he barely had time to talk to his husband after he got home from work. He took a shower, then realized he forgot to buy wine, then took off to the closest store before Deanâs boyfriend would arrive. He has no idea what Dean has planned for dinner.
âOkay, great,â the man mutters. He runs his eyes over the shelf in front of them before he settles on some red wine with an elegant label. Taking it off the shelf, he holds it out for Cas. âYouâll like this one.â
Cas hesitates before taking the bottle from the manâs hand. Glancing at the price tag, he assumes itâs a good quality wine, but not too expensive for a casual dinner. The man seems like he knows more about wine than Cas, so Cas decides to trust him. Placing the bottle in his basket, he says, âI need another one.â
âDifferent, or one more of this?â
âI donât know.â Cas knows heâs being unhelpful to this kind stranger, but he has no idea if an after dinner wine should be different than the one they drink during dinner. Would it be better if he bought a different one? It would show Benny he put some effort into this.
Another bottle is pushed under his nose which makes Cas come back from his thoughts. Itâs different from the previous one. It has a lighter color, but itâs not white. Cas thinks itâs rosĂŠ, but he canât be sure. It doesnât matter anyway. He needs to hurry up, heâs been here for long enough.
Grabbing the bottle, he places it beside the other in his basket. Smiling at the man, he says, âThank you so much.â
The manâs smile is so sweet, Cas forgets for a moment that he needs to go. The manâs eyes are a pretty shade of light blue that Cas could get lost in. He forces himself to break his eyes away. He doesnât know what time it is, but heâs sure heâll just barely make it home before Benny gets there.
With an awkward wave of his hand, he says, âThanks again.â Leaving the man behind him, he makes his way to the cashier. Taking a quick glance at his watch, he notes that he really needs to hurry home.
He parks his car on the driveaway, making sure that another car can park beside him. Jumping out of the car, he rushes into the house. Heâs quick to take off his shoes and trench coat before going to the kitchen.
âThought you wouldnât make it back before Benny,â Dean tells him instead of a greeting. Cas doesnât answer, he goes right to the fridge to place the two bottles in there. âIâm not sure youâre supposed to store wine in the fridge,â Dean says with an amused smile.
Cas gives him an icy glare. Wine needs to be chilly, he knows that much. But how else are you supposed to make it chilly if not in the fridge? God, this wine better be good, and Deanâs boyfriend better be worth the effort.
Dean walks up to him to place a kiss on his forehead that makes Casâs frown melt. âYouâre more nervous than me,â Dean whispers as heâs pulling Cas in for a kiss.
Dean barely pecks his lips before they hear a car pulling up to the driveaway. Cas takes a nervous look at his husband, who sends him a smile while squeezing his hand. Together, they walk out of the kitchen.
They are in the hallway when the bell rings, so Dean quickens his steps to open the door. Stepping close to Benny, he puts a kiss on the manâs cheek before settling back beside Cas. That is when Cas can take a good look at Benny. He canât believe his own eyes. The man from the store stands right in front of him.
Benny has a surprised expression on his face, but heâs quicker to recover than Cas. Holding up his hand with a bottle, Benny says, âI brought wine.â

âFreaking family van.â Dean mutters under his breath, while he tries to fix this stupid car. He works for Bobby for almost four years by now and he still isnât allowed to work on any oldtimers. Instead, he gets this crap.
Dean owns a 67â chevy Impala himself and he still gets treated like this.
âDean!â
Dean automatically sits up and bangs his head loudly on this damn car. It makes a very dull sound and Dean winces awkwardly. Just another bump he can add to the list. While he is normally pretty careful Bobby always does stuff like this, even now Dean can hear the old man laughing.
âWhat?â Dean wants to know when he finally comes out from under the car and glares at his adoptive father. Bobby grins.
âGot two new customers for you, son. Take good care of their car.â Bobby says and Dean nods, when Bobby already turns around to get back to the office again. While Dean is annoyed he isnât allowed to work on the cool cars, he thinks he is very lucky to have Bobby and he knows the old man loves him.
âSooo, what can I do for you?â Dean finally turns around to his customers and the screwdriver falls onto the ground when he sees them. It clatters loudly and stops directly in front of the shorter man.
[Read more under the cut]
The shorter man has blue eyes so deep, that Dean canât help but stare. The dark hair that is all over the place and the scruff looks so beautiful. Dean swallows dryly and he tries to focus on the other guy, who is just as pretty. Long brown hair that falls wonderfully on his shoulders and friendly green-brown eyes.
Dean opens his mouth again, but nothing comes out.
âMy husband here had bought this thing of a car a few weeks ago and it makes a really weird noise.â The taller man says and Dean nods a bit too hastily. God, of course his voice is also stunning.
Deanâs brain still stops at the word âHusbandâ. Sure he technically knows what that means, he is not stupid, but he lives in a small town and he never met a gay married couple. Dean is sure that he is blushing.
He knows that he is not as straight as he likes to pretend in front of his friends or as he did in high school, but this is something he never dared thinking about. He would love to have a husband himself one day.
âItâs not a thing, Sam. She is a lady.â The shorter man answers and if Dean thought Samâs voice was already nice, then his voice is deep and dripping like honey. Dean hastily strokes through his hair, a gesture that shows how nervous he is.
âUh may I have a look at her?â Dean stutters out and both look at him again. It takes Dean a lot not to squirm under their gazes. While Dean is known to be confident and flirty around girls, he feels a bit overwhelmed with two stunning man like this.
âOf course. And where are our manners? My name is Castiel Winchester and this is my husband Sam.â The shorter man says and Dean nods. He wants to hold out his hand, but he knows there will be oil all over it and he doesnât want to ruin their expensive suits.
Dean never felt more dirty in his life than right now. Wearing his old blue overall and an old flannel that definitely had seen better days before. The last time he had checked himself in a carâs mirror he had seen that some oil had even made it onto his forehead.
âNice to meet you.â Sam says and he at least waves a bit at Dean, who blushes and nods at Sam as well. He canât remember the last time he handled a conversation this badly. Sam and Castiel look at each other and then turn around to walk out of the garage.
Dean follows them, his head hanging. God he is so embarrassed.
âHere is my Beauty.â Castiel says and points at an old beige car. Dean frowns. Maybe this is some kind of payback from Bobby for all his whining in the last months. Because sure this car is old but also damn ugly.
âThis Pimp Mobile?â Dean asks before he can stop himself. While Castiel tilts his head to one side, Sam bursts out laughing. Dean isnât sure if he should laugh himself or maybe fall to his knees and apologize to Castiel.
He does neither.
âSee Cas. Even the mechanic doesnât like it.â Sam says loudly and Deanâs chest squeezes at those words. Even the mechanic. He knows them for five minutes and they are freaking married, but those words wake Dean more up than anything ever could.
âMy name is Dean.â He mumbles and then walks over to the car and carefully strokes over the still warm hood. Itâs not that the car looks broken or anything, but itâs obviously an old lady. Just like his Baby.
âSo Dean, you think you can take a look at her?â Castiel asks and Dean hopes they didnât see how he almost shuddered, when Castiel had said his name. Dean nods again and pulls the hood up. The engine doesnât look too bad on the first sight, but he knows that doesnât mean anything.
âSure, give me an hour? You could walk down the street here, there is a night diner, they have the best pie around here.â Dean says and points over to Bennyâs diner âElizabethâ. Sam holds out the keys and Dean takes them with another nod. God, he is behaving like a dumbass.
âThat does sound nice, but mind if we watch you?â Sam says and he is still so close to Dean, their chests almost touching and Dean hastily takes a step back. Nobody ever wanted to watch him work on their cars and why would they? But Sam said it as if he was meaning something completely different.
This time he does shudder, eyes on the ground, before he blinks up to Sam.
âUh⌠yeah sure, if you want.â Dean almost whispers and then Castiel happily puts an arm around his husband. Deanâs cheek are probably a deep red by now and he can even feel his ears burning. Oh Jo and Charlie would so laugh at him later, Dean can see how Jo watches him from their little office.
âWe would very much like that.â Castiel says and before Dean would actually get hard in his thin overall, just from a freaking voice, he hastily turns around and gets into the car, so he can drive it into the garage.
It only gives him two minutes to breathe, before he has to get out again. Sam now sitting on the old chair that is in the garage, Castiel standing next to him, his hand on Samâs shoulder. Must be nice to be constantly touched.
âSo when does the noise happen?â Dean asks and he opens the hood again. He checks for the radiator pressure cap first but the rubber gasket looks still good enough, so that should be fine.
âMostly when he steps on the brake. It still works but the sound is really annoying.â Sam explains and he can see Castiel nodding when he looks up again. Dean nods, while he does have an idea what causes the noise, he checks the pressure on each cylinder anyway and looks after the motor oil to make sure everything works, before closing the hood.
âYeah, your engine looks fine to me and from what you describe, I think you probably worn the brake pads down too far.â Dean explains, while he goes over to start their hydraulic lift, so he can take a look at the bottom of the car.
âIs that dangerous?â Castiel asks, sounding worried.
âWell I mean at this point itâs probably not that bad, but I would replace them, better sooner than later.â Dean says, and he takes his flashlight, while he walks directly under the car. He can feel Sam and Castielâs gaze on him and it feels weird, but also exciting. Dean flexes his arms unintentionally and curses himself for it.
âOh okay, can you do that for us?â Sam asks and again there is this sound. Dean bites on his lower lip, not looking at them, so he can concentrate on his task.
âNo problem.â Dean says quietly and the next minutes they spend in silence. Dean can confirm that the car indeed needs new brake pads and when he asks Bobby about it, the old man shows him a brand new package. Bobby always has everything in his garage, Dean never had to order anything himself.
It takes Dean a while to change them, but he quietly whistles while he works. Normally he would listen to his music and his fingers ache to start the old recorder in the corner, but he thinks that would probably be rather rude with the customers right here.
âOkay, that should be it.â Dean says, when he is finally finished. His hands are real dirty now and he takes an old towel to clean himself at least a little bit. He is grinning widely, but the smile falls off his face, when he sees Castiel now sitting on his husbandâs lap.
âOh thank you, Dean.â Castiel says and he continues to strokes Samâs hair. Dean canât even say if he is jealous of Sam or Castiel. Probably both.
âItâs my job.â Dean says and when he lets the car carefully down again, Castiel gets up and walks over to him. Dean winces at the dirty handprint he left on the carâs door and wipes with the towel over it.
While Castiel seems to love his car, he luckily doesnât say anything about that, instead he puts his hand on Deanâs shoulder and smiles warmly at him. Dean ducks his head, not sure what to do with this gesture.
âUhm⌠you can pay in the office. Joanna is our secretary.â Dean says and even though he wishes they could stay for longer with him, he doesnât really have an excuse. Castiel just squeezes his shoulder once more, before he actually walks towards the tiny office.
âReally Dean, you did so good.â Sam says and there is this husky whisper again. Dean looks up to Sam, his eyes wide, but before he can do anything - not that he wouldâve - Sam turns around as well and leaves Dean standing there like a dumbass.
Dean watches them leave with the ugly car half an hour later. He doesnât wave them back, instead he focuses on his next car and groans when he sees that the family van is still waiting for him.
His life sucks.
*
âDean! Customer!â
Dean groans, when he startles and cuts his finger at the car he was just working on. He looks down at the blood, dripping onto the floor and decides âfuck itâ before putting his finger into his mouth.
âMhm.â Dean grumbles and when he turns around he walks right into a very firm chest. He nearly stumbles and falls on his ass, but big hands catch him.
âHey Dean, so impetuous today hm?â
Dean chokes, when he sees that itâs actually Sam who is standing in front of him. Deanâs eyes widen and he hastily takes a step back from him. His finger still in his mouth, like an idiot, but Sam is smiling at him, before he seems to understand what happened.
âDean, are you hurt?â He asks and pulls Deanâs finger out of his mouth, Dean is so perplexed he just lets it happen. Sam examines his finger and then goes back to the briefcase, that he seemed to have put down.
Dean watches helplessly and tongue tied, while Sam is searching for something. He finally pulls out some band-aid and even some baby wipes. He cleans Deanâs finger slowly but with care and then wraps the band-aid around Deanâs finger, that started to bleed again when Sam had cleaned it.
âYou should be more careful.â Sam says but he is smiling. Dean looks at his finger and blushes when he sees that there are stupid toy cars on the band-aid. He puts his hand behind his back, even though Sam put the childish band-aid around his finger in the first place.
âT-thank you.â Dean mumbles and Sam clasps him on the shoulder, just like his husband did last week. Dean is surprised that he came back, but maybe Dean did some horrible mistake on the car and maybe thatâs why Castiel isnât here andâŚ
âSo I wanted to ask you if you could look at the disaster Cas calls a car again? I think one of the lights burned out.â Sam says and Dean takes a deep breath. Okay so he didnât fuck it up.
âS-sure. If itâs really just the lamp, it should take me five minutes.â Dean offers slowly and he follows Sam to the car. Since itâs nearly closing time, the office is already unoccupied and Bobby is probably on his way home by now.
Lately Dean is the one to close the garage.
âOh thatâs good. Mr. Singer told me you would close soon and I donât wanna occupy you here longer than you have to.â Sam says and he strokes trough his long hair. Dean kinda want to touch it as well and see if it feels as soft as it is.
âI donât mind, really. Working on cars is my passion.â Dean says and he facepalms, when Sam isnât looking at him. Why would he say something like that, Sam didnât even ask for his life story.
âYou seem to be really good at it.â Sam says and he sits down in the car, to start the engine. Dean stays at the front of the car and looks at the two headlights. Sam is right, the left one isnât working.
âNot really and yeah the left one seems to be broken. I will just get a new lamp, pretty sure Bobby has a similar one around here somewhere.â Dean says and he is a bit surprised to see Sam frown.
Before he can think about it, he walks back into the garage and looks for a new headlight bulb. He finds it in the second cupboard and takes it with him. The sight that greets him when he comes back, lets him stumble, the headlight bulb almost falling to the ground.
Itâs warm, but seeing Sam without his jacket in just a tank top does some things to Dean. Sam seems to train a lot and his arms look so strong, Dean wonders if he could pick him up easily. He gets goosebumps at the thought.
While Dean isnât really small himself, Sam still has a few inches on him and Dean has to say he always admired strong guys a bit, even though Dean can lift heavy stuff himself. Sometimes⌠he wants to be the⌠well not weaker part but⌠the one who doesnât have to be strong.
Dean shakes his head. Where do those thoughts come from lately?
âItâs really hot today, huh?â Sam says, when Dean comes back and he is now leaning against the ugly pimp mobile. Not that Dean can even focus at all on the car, when Sam arches his back and his muscles flex.
âUh huh.â Dean whispers and occupies himself with switching out the damn headlight bulb. Sam stays quiet for the moment and it gives Dean time to take a break. Is the guy even knowing what he does to Dean? He has a husband, for godâs sake.
âHave you always lived here?â Sam asks, while Dean finally gets the old headlight bulb out. Itâs clearly burned out and Dean throws it to the side. He has to clean up anyway and since Sam is the last customer.
âYeah, eh my Dad left when I was pretty young and my mum died, so Bobby took me in.â Dean says and normally he doesnât tell everyone his sob story, but he thinks that he is pretty safe with Sam.
âIâm really sorry, Dean.â Sam says and Dean knows he means it and itâs not just some pity. Dean takes the new lightbulb and presses it into its place.
âWhat about you, still on vacation here?â Dean asks, because he had never seen Sam or Castiel here before. Dean closes the hood and motions for Sam to start again. Both lights are working this time and Dean nods satisfied with his work.
âOh no, we recently moved here. Castiel got a job at the university and Iâm a lawyer, there is work for me anywhere.â Sam says and Dean hopes his smile looks convincing. A professor and a lawyer, Dean feels incredible small now.
âSounds great. Well your husbandâs pimp mobile is ready.â Dean says and Sam nods. He walks with Dean towards the office and Dean fills out his reckoning. He charges Sam only under ten dollars, because that was really nothing and he kinda hopes to see him again.
âThank you, Dean.â Sam says and when he drives away two minutes later, Dean waves shyly. Sam winks at him.
*
âHello Dean.â
Dean turns around and slips on some oil the car in front of him that he had lost earlier. Dean not only falls clumsily on his ass, the oil is now all over him. He blinks up at Castiel.
âOh I didnât mean to startle you.â Castiel says, but there is a tiny smile, that shows Dean he is being laughed at. Dean huffs and slowly gets up, ignoring Castielâs hand, he wouldnât want the professor to go to class dirty.
âItâs okay.â Dean says, even though he doesnât know what is going on. He was never this clumsy in his life before, but as soon as one of the husbands shows up, his body seems to stop working.
Or maybe it works on something different.
âIâm very sorry to disturb you again, but it seems like my car has another problem.â Castiel says and Dean frowns. Sure thatâs an old car, but Deanâs Baby is older and never had this many things in just two weeks.
âI mean, itâs my job. So whatâs going on?â Dean offers, grabbing his towel again, to at least clean up a little bit. Castiel watches him and then takes the towel out of Deanâs hand, before Dean can even react.
Castiel walks towards the small sink in the garage and wets the towel, before he comes back and carefully dabs over Deanâs left cheekbone, before he continues to clean Deanâs whole face. Even his nose.
Dean flushes a bright red again, his ears burning, but he canât look away from Castielâs deep blue eyes. Somehow they calm him down and make him nervous at the same time.
âT-thank you.â Dean stutters out, just as nervous as he was with Sam. Castielâs smile is genuine and he puts the towel back, before he points at his car.
âSo when I drive and then stop at a red light, or anything something ticks rhythmically.â Castiel says and Dean hums. He thinks he knows that problem already, but he wants to make sure.
âYou already checked the oil?â Dean asks back and Castiel nods. Dean opens the passenger door and looks at Castiel over the roof.
âYou think I can take a short drive?â Dean asks and when Castiel agrees, he sits for the first time down in that pimp mobile. Itâs not too bad actually, but still it doesnât compare to his Baby at all.
âYou mind if I come with you?â Castiel asks and he is already sitting down at the passenger seat. Dean sighs inwardly, seems like those two donât want to leave him alone. Maybe Castiel doesnât trust him with his car.
âThen letâs see what problem your âLadyâ has.â Dean says, smirking at the nickname. Castiel squints at him and Dean has to chuckle a bit. Seems like Castiel is just like a man of his dreams. Deanâs smile vanishes.
He should stop daydreaming about Castiel or Sam. They are happily married and Dean would never get between them.
âLaugh all you want.â Castiel mutters a bit salty and Dean tries to concentrate on the street in front of them. Just as Castiel says there is nothing to hear while they drive. Itâs almost awkwardly quiet.
Just as Dean stops at the first red light he can think of, the engine ticks. Yeah, like Castiel had said. Before Dean can actually say what the problem could be, Castiel leans closer.
Dean even stops breathing when Castielâs left hand finds his way on his thigh. Oh hell Dean is going to die in this ugly car. He doesnât even realize at first, that Castiel points at something in the dashboard and that this is the reason, why he is so close.
âDean? I said, that the indicator lamp for the oil isnât on, so it canât be that, right?â Castiel asks again and Dean is still concentrating on the hand on his thigh. So warm and Castiel smells so good.
The red light turns green and Dean stalls the engine. The people behind them start to honk loudly and Dean hastily starts the motor again.
âUhm yeah⌠I think I do know whatâs wrong though.â Dean says quietly, when they drive back to the garage. Castiel is looking out of the passenger window and Dean already wishes he would touch him again.
Even though Castiel is clearly smaller than Sam and even an inch shorter than Dean, he is pretty sure Castiel could easily pin him to a wall as well. Dean pushes the brakes a bit too hard, when they stop, just to get rid of thoughts like that.
âYou like it rough huh?â Castiel asks and he is laughing. Deanâs dick tries to stir at those words, mixed with that low voice and he is out of the car, before Castiel can even blink.
Dean doesnât even answer him, instead he busies himself with opening the hood again and checking the oil anyway. That is mostly unnecessary, but he has to get control over himself first. He knows that he is breathing a bit harder by now, but god he canât deny it anymore.
He wants Castiel and Sam.
This is so bad, they are freaking married and he is just the small townâs mechanic. Maybe he should finally agree to Charlieâs idea of a double date with her girlfriend and this Aaron guy. Just to get distracted at least.
Dean had never even kissed a guy so far, but he knows that he really wants to. And he wishes his first kiss with a man could be with Castiel or Sam.
âThink you found something?â Castiel asks and Dean nods. He should get this stuff out of his head. Castiel sounds a bit wary by now, maybe he had noticed Deanâs little crush. Oh god, that is so embarrassing.
âYeah, as you said the oil seems okay, but Iâm gonna check the valve adjustment.â Dean explains and Castiel nods, even though he doesnât seem to understand what Dean is talking about.
âIs that bad?â Castiel asks, obviously worried about his car. Dean shrugs.
âNot really, I mean I probably just have to adjust the valve clearances, but first I have to remove this cover and then the engine has to be manually rotated and then I can measure each valve clearance and adjust them.â Dean explains slowly and Castiel looks more upset with every second.
âBut you can do it?â Castiel asks again and Dean nods. He feels pretty confident at least with this topic.
âSure uhm⌠it will just take me a while. Would it be okay if I look at her tomorrow morning, first thing?â Dean asks and Castiel seems a bit relieved, that he could at least fix it.
âOf course. I will have Sam come over and get her, itâs his free day tomorrow.â Castiel says and Dean nods. He closes the hood again and then they both walk towards the office again.
Dean looks for his calendar and then writes down that he needs two hours blocked tomorrow, so he could work on the pimp mobile. He ignores Joâs smile on purpose. Even though nobody at high school knew that he is bisexual, he told Jo and Charlie ages ago.
âOkay so if Sam would stop by at 10am, she should be all ready.â Dean announces and Castiel types it into his phone. He is probably already telling his husband, that he has to get the car.
âDo you need a ride home?â Dean asks, but Castiel is shaking his head. Probably already texted Sam that as well or maybe he would get a cab.
âThank you so much Dean. We wouldnât know what to do without you.â Castiel says and Dean walks him back to the door. Just as he wants to say his goodbyes, Castiel is hugging him shortly and then walks towards the next bus station.
Dean stands a few seconds longer speechless in the doorway. Joâs laughter tears him out of his thoughts and he hastily goes back to his workplace.
*
âGood morning, Dean.â Sam says happily just five minutes after it turned ten. Dean is prepared this time and doesnât even hurt himself, he just smiles at the taller man.
âHey Sam. Lady is all ready and set.â Dean points at the car, that is waiting outside, since Dean had already started to work on the next car. Since itâs early this time Garth is also still here and itâs a bit loud today.
âThank you, Iâm sure Cas will be very happy.â Sam says and they both walk towards the car. Sam whistles when he sees it and Dean has to say he is a bit proud of himself.
âI hope so.â Dean answers and shrugs a bit embarrassed, too.
âWow you even cleaned it.â Sam says and Dean leans against the hood, while Sam walks around the car. Normally Dean doesnât do this, itâs simply not his job, but he wanted to do something good for them. Sam strokes over the hood and smiles up at him.
âThank you, Dean.â Sam says and then he is leaning closer and closer. For a second Dean thinks, that Sam will just put his hand on Deanâs thigh like his husband did before but by then Sam had already pressed a short kiss to Deanâs lips.
Dean sputters and Sam laughs, before leaning in again.
Deanâs eyes fall close without his permission and he lets himself be kissed. Samâs lips are soft and warm and Dean canât help but even open his mouth, when Samâs tongue catches his lower lip.
He isnât sure who gasps into the kiss, but it doesnât matter.
Until Dean remembers something very important and he opens his eyes, before he pushes Sam away. Normally that probably wouldnât do much, but since he catches Sam off guard, the other man stumbles back, looking very surprised.
âAre you out of your mind?â Dean hisses, he canât yell or Garth and Bobby would come out to look for him. Sam frowns at the words, but even tries to take Deanâs hand in his own. Dean breaks loose and gets some distance between them.
âDean, whatâs wrong?â Sam asks, his lips so red, because seconds ago Dean was kissing him like his life depended on it. Dean wipes over his own mouth, still clearly tasting the other man.
âAre you kidding me?â Dean asks again and Sam makes the mistake to come closer again. Just as he touches Deanâs arm, Dean smacks his cheek. It makes an incredible loud sound and Dean prays to every god that the others didnât hear that.
âYou are married, do you remember that? Heck you have the most amazing husband and you are cheating on him like that? I thought you were just as perfect yourself, but apparently you are just an asshole.â Dean growls at him and he doesnât even care that he practically admitted his crushes towards them.
âYeah I know that butâŚâ Sam starts, but Dean shakes his head.
âIâm not letting you cheat on Castiel with me. I⌠Iâm not just a toy, you can both play with and then throw away.â Dean says and to his own horror there are tears welling in his eyes. But maybe that is really what they did. They both played with him the last weeks.
Dean runs back towards the garage without another look at Sam. Garth doesnât say anything, but he holds his arms out for a hug and for the first time in forever, Dean happily accepts it from his friend.
The tears donât stop for a long time.
*
âBoy? Iâm going home now, are you sure you are okay?â Bobby asks a few nights later, when itâs already dark outside and everyone else is already home.
âYeah sure.â Dean answers, half-heartedly but thankfully Bobby doesnât ask any more questions. He never does, since he knows that he can trust Dean to come to him, if something is really wrong.
The door falls closed and Dean is alone with his thoughts again. He feels miserable. Neither Sam nor Castiel were here the last days, to look for him. Itâs probably better that way.
He just had such a good feeling with them and he shouldâve never let them come so close to him. He was just the mechanic, maybe a cute fling. At least for Sam. Dean closes the hood of the small tractor he was working on and goes to wash his hands at the sink. He would really clean up at home.
Dean looks up when there is a noise outside and his heart is beating a bit faster. He reaches for his screwdriver and holds it up. The steps come closer to the door. Dean tries to calm himself down, it could just be Bobby, but he is sure there is more than one person coming.
âPsscht.â One of them says and then the door opens.
Dean is holding up the screwdriver just to protect him, when he sees that the intruders are actually just Sam and Castiel.
âDean itâs just us.â Castiel says hastily, because he can for sure see how white Dean is around his nose. Dean doesnât slow the screwdriver though. Normally he isnât such a wimp, but lately everything seems to get out of control.
âHey itâs okay, Babyboy.â Sam says and he comes closer. Dean tries to get his breathing back in control and Sam takes the screwdriver out of his hands, his smile is almost careful. Deanâs eyes well up with tears again.
âWhat⌠what do you want here?â Dean asks them, his voice a bit shaky. He sits down at the chair and strokes over his hair.
âI wanted to apologize.â Sam says quietly and Dean doesnât even glance at him. He is still angry and hurt that Sam did that with him.
âAnd we wanted to explain.â Castiel says quietly and he kneels down in front of Dean, who frowns. What do they want to explain? That this was all just a joke?
Dean just snuffles, before he wipes over his eyes.
âIâm really sorry Dean. I shouldnât have kissed you just like that. I shouldâve made sure that you wanted it, too.â Sam says and Dean finally looks at him. Seems like Sam is still not really understanding the problem here.
âEspecially since I wanted to be the first to kiss you.â Castiel says, just as Dean opens his mouth to answer. Deanâs exhales loudly, because what?
âHuh?â Dean says and they both start to laugh at that.
âOkay, so tell us honestly, did you like kissing Sam?â Castiel asks and Dean isnât sure if this isnât just a trick, but Castielâs blue eyes look so honest and Dean can feel himself nodding against his will.
âGood boy.â Castiel answers cheekily and Dean blushes under the now knowing gaze.
âDean, have you ever heard of a polyamorous relationship before?â Sam asks and he sounds so tender. Dean shakes his head a bit, he may have heard that yes, but he doesnât really know what it means.
âSam never âcheatedâ on me like you thought he did. Dean, Sam and I are in a polyamorous relationship and we both want you to be part of it.â Castiel explains slowly and Dean gasps quietly.
âWhy?â Is the only thing he gets out. He can see how sad Sam and Castiel both look at that question.
âOh baby.â Castiel says and he takes both of Deanâs hands in his own warm ones. Sam smiles a bit encouraging.
âHow could we not, Dean? You may not realize it, but you are such a nice and funny person. You give people a lot, even when they donât deserve it and you are caring so much. I fell in love the first time you talked to us.â Sam explains and Deanâs eyes grow wider with every word.
âIâm notâŚâ Dean starts, because he knows he doesnât deserve them and to be honest, this just sounds like a dream. Maybe the intruders got to him and hit him on the head.
âHe is right. Dean you are wonderful and we didnât even start about how cute you are.â Castiel smiles at him and Dean feels the world spinning.
âAnd pretty hot, too.â Sam grins.
âYou⌠you donât know me.â Dean whispers, but the âand I donât know you eitherâ goes unsaid. Dean knows that he is crushing on both of them, too. He was so confused these last days, because is it possible to fall in love with two people?
Apparently, yes.
âBut we would like to get to know you.â Castiel says and he is still holding Deanâs hands. Sam is leaning closer and presses a soft kiss to Deanâs forehead. Dean can feel himself smiling a little bit.
âYou really mean that?â Dean asks, sounding way too hopeful. He would for sure need to look this whole thing up and even though both seem to make it seem easy, Dean knows every relationship takes work.
âOf course. Not as a toy, as an equal boyfriend.â Sam whispers and this time, Dean grabs his shirt and pulls him down for another kiss. God he had missed those lips, even though he had only felt them once before.
When Sam breaks the kiss slowly, Dean licks over his own lips. Yeah, he could get used to that. Castiel is pouting.
âTwo to nothing.â Sam says happily and Castiel pushes his boyfriend a bit away. Their boyfriend. Dean blushes badly and then blinks innocently up at Castiel, who seems to get the hint.
Castiel leans closer and just as Deanâs eyes flutter closed, he gets kissed again. Castiel kisses different than Sam, even a bit more dominant, but still so soft. He nibbles on Deanâs lips, before he licks into Deanâs mouth as if he already owns him.
âYou were right, Sam. He is a great kisser.â Castiel says, when Dean has to breath again and breaks the kiss, way too soon.
Dean smiles shyly up at them. He doesnât think he ever felt this good.
*
âHey babyboy.â Dean blushes furiously even though he is alone at the garage again. This time Sam drives the ugly Pimp mobile into the garage and for a moment Dean thinks itâs broken down again, but then he sees that itâs raining outside.
âHi.â Dean says, still shy around them, even though they have been both very patient with him. Itâs only been eight weeks, but Dean thinks this is what love feels like. And also what itâs like to be loved.
âAre you done for today?â Castiel asks and he pushes Sam out of the way, to kiss their youngest boyfriend. Dean humms happily. He loves it, when they can âcompareâ so playfully. Sam gets his kiss as well.
âYeah I think I should be done in five minutes? Just need to put a new headlight into the green car.â Dean says and points at the car in the corner. Sam nods and sits on his chair, Castiel on his lap. Dean grins at them.
He remembers how he had seen them for the first time like this.
Dean goes over to the car and starts to do his work. He should really be done in a few minutes, so he leans down over the open hood. He hears Sam whistle and blushes even more. One day they would be the death of him.
Dean wiggles his ass a bit anyway.
âOh do you remember when we first came here? God, my Lady broke down so often.â Castiel says and Dean knows Sam is rolling his eyes at the nickname. He âhatesâ it that Dean and Castiel have names for their cars.
âYeah god, he had to change a headlight, too. I nearly couldnât resist touching him.â Sam says and just like that he is directly behind Dean. Slowly reaching his arms around him and stroking over his tummy.
Deanâs breath hitches.
âI bet the sight was just as gorgeous as it is now.â Castiel whispers somehow directly into Deanâs ear, who shudders helplessly. Castiel knows exactly what his voice does to Dean.
âOh it was.â Sam growls out and he presses against Dean with his whole body. Dean aches his back and he presses his ass right against Samâs dick. Fuck. Dean can hear how Castiel chuckles, but it sounds strangled as well.
âSuch a good boy, right? Did everything we wanted, right Sam?â Castiel says and his hand strokes over Deanâs hair. Dean leans into the touch and Castiel presses some hot kisses on his neck.
Sam doesnât seem to be bored, though. His hands carefully wander under Deanâs jeans and Dean bucks up to them. Both of them stop.
âAre you sure?â Sam whispers and Dean nods. God he had wanted this for a bit, but he never dared to ask, but he knows they will take good care of him.
âPlease?â Dean whispers back and just like that Castiel kisses him again. This time their kiss turns a lot more heated and Dean moans helplessly. He had known Castiel had a wicked tongue from Samâs stories but this lets his knees buckle.
âMaybe we should sit down.â Sam suggest and he is chuckling, while he holds Dean up. Dean nods a bit out of breath already, his dick straining painfully against his jeans, even though nothing happened so far.
Sam helps him to turn around and before Dean reacts, he already hauls him up in his arms, like a bride. Dean squeaks a bit at that and he holds onto Samâs neck. Fuck he had dreamed about this.
To his surprise Sam sits down on the hood of Castielâs pimp mobile. Castiel takes the blanket, they always have in the garage and puts it under them, before Sam sits down.
Sam slides a bit back until his back is pressed against the cool glass of the windshield, Dean can hear him hiss a bit at that and then he lets his legs fall open, Dean now sitting between them, his own back against Samâs strong chest.
âLet us make you feel good, hm?â Castiel says and he only leans over the hood. His hands burning hot on Deanâs thighs again. Sam is now the one kissing his neck and Deanâs breath grows heavier with each one.
âPlease.â Dean whimpers again, not even sure what he is asking for. Castiel smiles at him and then opens his belt. Luckily he had already dressed out of his work clothes. The back of his hand presses against Deanâs hard cock through the jeans. Castiel winks at Sam.
âItâs okay, baby.â Castiel shushes Dean and then throws the belt carelessly away. He opens Deanâs jeans a second later and Sam holds his ass up, so Castiel can easily pull the jeans down. Dean feels exposed, even though he is still wearing his underwear.
âSo beautiful for us, hm?â Sam whispers into his ear and bites into the sensitive skin. Dean gasps loudly and then Samâs hands wander under his flannel. Sam carefully strokes over his nipples and Deanâs hips thrust up without his intention. Castiel chuckles.
âHe is so sensitive. I love it.â Castiel almost growls and Dean whines again. He never had this much attention on him and they havenât really done anything yet. Castiel leans down again and mouths against his cock through his by now wet underwear.
It feels incredible good and Dean throws his head back. Sam doesnât stop touching his nipples either and Dean can feel how hard his boyfriend is as well. Even Castiel seems a bit bothered, his face a faint red. Dean watches how they kiss for a moment.
âM-more.â Dean tries to demand, but it sounds more like begging than anything else. Still Castiel does what he wants and finally gets rid of his underwear too. Samâs right hand now curling around Deanâs dick.
âWant me to get you off?â Sam breaths against his neck and Dean nods hastily. He doesnât care how they do it, he just knows that he wonât last long. Not like this, not when he never did this.
Castiel kisses him wetly, while Samâs hand begins to move and all Dean can do is pant into Castielâs mouth and hope to survive this.
âBeing so good for us, Dean.â Sam whispers with every third stroke and Dean didnât know he had praise kink but he can feel his cock twitching every time Sam says it. Castiel palms himself through his jeans by now and Sam ruts carefully against Deanâs ass. They both kiss over Deanâs shoulder and seriously that is so hot.
âC-close.â Dean whimpers, when Samâs hand moves even faster and just as he thinks he can last at least a few minutes longer, Castiel pinches his left nipple.
âCome for us.â Sam says at the same time and that is all it takes for Dean, to come over Samâs fist and the blanket. Castiel kisses him again and rubs himself on Deanâs thigh, his jeans at his ankles. Dean doesnât really register that.
He feels too far away right now.
âFuck Dean.â Sam growls and Dean can feel him come against his ass, even though Sam is still wearing his pants. Dean shudders violently and moans again. Somehow that seems to trigger Castiel as well with Samâs hand around his dick now, because he comes only a second later, all over Deanâs thigh.
âAw Babyboy.â Castiel says, when he sees that Dean sleepily blinks up at him. Castiel kisses him again and Dean canât muster more than another hum.
âI canât believe our first time was on this damn ugly pimp mobile.â Dean whispers happilly and Sam snorts loudly. Castiel smirks himself.
âWell Iâm just glad we tortured my poor car to get closer to you.â Castiel says grinning and Dean frowns up at him. Sam is still laughing.
âWhat?â Dean mumbles and Sam strokes over his chest.
âWe were so smitten with you, Baby when we met you the first time, we just had to come back, to see you again, but we needed an excuse.â Sam explains and Dean tries to glare at him. It doesnât seem to work, because Sam boops his nose in answer.
âTotally worth it.â Sam says and Castiel nods.
âYeah but honestly it was such a bitch to shift the valve clearances.â Castiel smirks. Dean gasps, because that assholes knew exactly what the car had back then. Ohh they did play him a bit.
âSorry baby.â Sam says and kisses him, Dean going pliant in his arms again. He is glad that they did that in the end. Because he never had anything like this in his life.
âI love you.â Dean whispers and they both seem to be a bit shocked by that. Dean wouldnât take the words back though. Castiel breaks out into a smile first and he kisses Sam and then Dean.
âI love you both.â Castiel says and Sam whispers his own love confession to them. Dean sighs happily and closes his eyes.
This earth used to be overrun by billions of human beings and millions of different species of animals. It was a thriving planet, green, bright and bursting with life. It was beautiful and blossoming, self sustaining and massive. Mankind took her for granted, didnât take advantage of her beauty and instead they were greedy for her resources. They destroyed her land and cut down her trees, soiled her oceans and endangered her creatures. They polluted her air and trashed her without a care of what was to become of her.
Now that the Earth didnât belong to them, humans began to wish that had appreciated her. Now that the planet was drying and dying, they yearned for the days when they had trees and running water. The sun was once loved and enjoyed, not it burnt up the ground and dried up the dew long ago. Man was once free to do as they pleased. Now they were slaves, bound to their dead planet and forced to suffer until there was none of their species left. Once, food was given on a silver platter, feeding them until their bellies were full. But now, they were lucky to only go a week without a meal.
Some people hid underground while others pitched tents and constantly roamed like listless nomads. Great cities once stood proudly along the horizons and now they were deep craters that even now smoked from time to time. Roads still marked the path across countries, but they were cracked and faded. Not that man needs roads since they had no means of transport besides their feet. Even majestic beasts were long gone, having died out much like humans would one day soon. Anything edible had been killed to extinction for the sustenance of the human species. Crop and grass were burnt up by the heat and the ground was no longer fertile to grow anything. Billions of people became handfuls scattered around the globe.
The only thriving and sustainable existence were the dark and metallic cities that hovered in the atmosphere. Giant ships that held thousands of the intruders that destroyed the planet. Earth was not the only planet in the solar system and was not the only planet inhabited by these creatures. This wasnât the only galaxy they had overtaken and humans werenât the only beings wiped out by the destructive aliens. They came through like a tsunami and wiped out all the biggest cities of the world.
This lead to panic and chaos and businesses and civilization failed. Every man for himself quickly dwindled commodities and it didnât take long for man to turn toward animals and without the ability to breed or the time to repopulate, most creatures went extinct quickly. Due to plundering and scavenging, one couldnât plant crops or wait for anything to grow and bloom. Man became feral and dangerous, doing anything it took to survive even to the point of cannibalism.
This planet was now full of human beings that survivors called the Feral and then there were those that tried to hold onto their humanity. The Feral were dangerous enough but there was also the aliens who seemed to take pets of the Ferals and used them for their own will. Life on Earth as a human was deadly and treacherous and not man survived past a certain age and if you were sick or injured, then your life was already over.
Though children were still being born, most didnât survive for long enough to have a life and most parents chose to take their own childâs life, wishing their death to be quick instead of a long painful existence on the planet. John knew people like that, people that put a bullet in a childâs head and without blinking an eye, they took their own life. His neighbors had tried to kill his own sons, tried to tell him theyâd be better off in the afterlife. But he wouldnât allow it and he put the neighbors down instead and fled with his two young boys.
His wife had been one of the thousands that were taken during the invasion. He had tried to hold onto her but with Sam and Dean hanging onto him, he couldnât hold onto her as well. She had let go and he watched her get sucked away into a bright light and was never seen again. He tried to wait for her, stayed in their house for as long as he could just in hopes that they would return her to him. But when survival became more important, he had no other choice but to escape with his children.
The Impala had worked for a good many years. He was able to keep it maintained due to scavenging and he cyphened enough gas to keep it running for a while. But just like all the other vehicles, it died. The gas ran out and the parts aged. As much as he wanted to hold onto the old hunk of junk, he didnât have a choice but to leave her on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. He walked away with a bag on his back and a bag on his shoulder while Sam was resting against his other shoulder. Dean tried not to cry but John didnât fault him because the Impala was just as much a part of the family. Though the boy had a bag full of toys and other things he had gathered from the car, it was still heartbreaking and John shed a few tears of his own.
The Winchesters never stopped. With no destination in mind, they wandered aimlessly, coming and going only to survive. The boys grew up hard, they had to. They were trained to be strong and learned to fight. The ex-marine had the skills to protect himself and he passed those skills onto his children. This wasnât a world to be immature and childish. Only men could survive so the trail was rough and broken but they were alive and that was better than the alternative. If he was alone, he would probably survive longer and move quicker.
If he didnât have to raise two kids, he would be better off. But none of that ever crossed Johnâs mind. He would give up his own life if it meant that Sam and Dean got to live. His wife would live through him and even in the midst of an apocalypse, he would do whatever he could for them. And even though it was difficult, he wouldnât trade them for anything. Even though he was hard on them and made them grow up long before their time, he loved them and he made sure to show them that he did and this was the only way he knew how to do it.
Time passed and the boys became men, strong men, hard men that looked out for each other and kept each other sane and alive and that was harder than one may think. Groups of people had created communities and havens where everyone took care of each other but the Winchesters were a rogue pack of lone wolves. They didnât have a good rep with other humans and it didn't take long for them to be on the aliensâ most wanted list either.
They were perceived as ruthless and cruel men, driven by rage and violence and for that they were feared and turned away by groups they came across. Though they were hard and murderous, they had overcome every obstacle placed before them and made it out alive so far. They cared for the weak and injured that they came across and took down plenty of the intruders for their leaders to take notice. They were cold but they were caring, rough but compassionate, homicidal but sympathetic. They hadnât lost their humanity and did only what they had to to survive. The Earth was theirs and they would do anything to keep possession of it and make sure human beings survived. If that meant they were feared and shunned, then so be it but they were making a difference and sometimes being a hero meant traveling a long lonely road.
Even though the men all had their needs, the never took what wasnât theirs or forced themselves on any person or community. They werenât monsters out to please their lusts and hunger. But when it was offered to them and given willingly, they werenât one to deny it and take advantage of someone elseâs hospitality. Whether this be housing, food, bathing or the company of a woman, whatever it was, they could go weeks without the things that once were abundant and given away freely. In this world, you took what you could get and you didnât have very high standards.
If you held out for fine dining and supermodels, you would waste away before you got very far. Sof if a plain Jane came along with a bowl of foul smelling mush, you didnât dare turn her away in hopes something better would come along. There was no walk of shame these days, no regret or the morning after remorse because there was no time for inhibitions nowadays. You take what you get and you count your blessings because at any moment, you could be gone.
You had been born into this world, knowing nothing of the world that came before the invasion. You had spent your whole life fighting for survival. You grew up fast and never had time to be a child because children couldnât survive here. Your father hadnât been strong enough to handle it all and easily went feral, forcing you and your mother to flee when you were only ten years old. The two of you took care of each other for as long as you could but with no supplies and no training, she wasnât able to take care of you. She had given you over to a wandering convoy and disappeared into the distance, never to be seen or heard from again.
The community never stopped for long and though you had your place, a specific job within the group, you never felt like you belonged or that anyone cared about you at all. They helped you survive and gave you protection but didnât give you the family, the home that you longed for. For ten years, you traveled with them, a large caravan turning into a small handful of people in that time. It was only a matter of time before all of them would be wiped out. And when that day came, you had no choice but to run for your life, leaving your community without even looking back.
That was what left you here, alone and running on adrenaline and fear alone. You missed the safety of a large group and missed having someone to help you scavenge. Survival on your own was terrifying and you had gone so long without more than a can of fruit or ancient Spam to eat and a few drops of water to drink. Like this, you knew you wouldnât survive very long and the moment you came in contact with a feral or heaven forbid ran into an intruder, you wouldnât stand a chance. Your body was withering away and along with it, your strength and sanity. You had no weapon, nothing to your name but the clothes on your back, the backpack hanging on your shoulders and the measly amount of supplies within it.
The ruins you hid within would not be your shelter for long, too open and vulnerable for you to put up permanent residence. You had picked it clean even though it seemed to have been picked clean several times before you. The ground and the decaying brush didnât make for a very pleasant bed but it was better than the brittle tree you had camped in the night before. Now that night had fallen, the chill of the darkness seeped into your bones and caused you to shiver violently. You hugged your legs to yourself in attempt to keep warm but without any kind of protection from the harsh winds, it would be an impossible task.
You wished more than anything that you could just die here, fall asleep and just never wake up. No existence was better than this existence. You were even too weak to take your own life and the universe was too cruel to just let you die. Like so many other nights, you began to cry, the sobs making your body tremble even more as the tears seemed to freeze your skin as they ran down your face. Food, drink, warmth, all hopeless thoughts of a dying dreamer at this point and you prayed to a god that you didnât even believe in, that someone would come along and end your misery once and for all.
If you were lucky, the Intruders would just shoot you in the head instead of abducting you and do who knows what to you. Hopefully, the Feral would bash your head in with a rock instead of eating you alive. You also hoped that a group of survivors wouldnât find you and have mercy on you, nurse you back to health. You just wanted to be done. You couldnât do this anymore. You couldnât lose anyone else. As you finally started to pass out, not really in slumber but just exhaustion, you started to think that finally this was it. Darkness that took over your vision made your body relax and you finally felt peace.
All too soon, that peace was taken from you, the blinding light of the morning sun waking you from dreamless nothingness. But when your eyes opened, it wasnât the same decrepit ruins you had fallen asleep in. Above you was a leather tent, an opening in the front that worked as a door and where the light was flowing in. You were wrapped in a ragged leather jacket and you were laying on a bed of stained but still soft wool. You were hungrier than ever but your mouth wasnât quite as dry, making you think that you had recently had water.
None of this made any sense and you started to think either you had finally gone mad or you were dreaming. Your bod was still so weak that getting up and steady on your feet took so much effort especially with the heavy coat still wrapped around you. The bed was actually a makeshift cot, obviously built at the last minute for their unexpected guest. The tent was small but it offered a sense of comfort and you held the jacket closer to your body. It smelled worn and musty but the scent was oddly satisfying and pleasant. Even though you were starved and feeble, this was the best you had felt in years. If this was the afterlife, youâd take it any day.
You squealed and jolted when the stillness was disrupted by someone pulling the door back to enter. The quick reaction caused your weak knees to give out and sent you hurtling toward the dirt floor, barely missing the cotâs cushioning. You groaned as the man quickly came to help you up, apologizing over and over, hazel orbs dazzling and swirling with sympathy. He was freakishly tall, your skeletal frame like David next to Goliath. The sight of him was intimidating and made you quiver but his soft expression told you that he was not going to hurt you in any way.
The excitement of the brief interaction made you lightheaded and he was there this time to catch you when you teetered on your feet. He held you against his chest as your eyes fluttered open and closed and you tried to calm yourself. You clung to him as best you could and breathed him in, finding that this seemed to sooth you well. He didnât hesitate to wrap his arms around you and keep you steady while his hand combed through your hair languidly. This was far more peaceful than the dark emptiness.
He seemed to understand what you needed and his arms tightened around you. Never having met or even seen this man before in your life, it surprised you when you felt tears run down your cheeks. Usually sobs only came at night when you were alone but now in the warm embrace of a total stranger, you found yourself falling apart. So much so, he had to take a seat and cradle you in his lap to keep you both from collapsing to the floor. You had never felt so protected since you were a little child in the arms of your mother. And for the first time in a long time, life was bearable.
It wasnât until the tent opened again, that your tears finally ebbed. Another man entered but didnât say a word and yet there was still some kind of silent conversation passing between the two men. With wide eyes, you looked between them and suddenly felt embarrassed. The other man was older than the first by only a few years. His hair was far shorter than the young manâs moppy locks. This older man had the greenest of eyes, the wrinkles in the corners making them look even softer and more brilliant.
Both men were equally the most beautiful things you had ever laid your eyes on. Your mouth opened with intent to speak but what came out was a raspy attempt at hello. You coughed and wheezed to try and lubricate your parched and unused vocal chords but the men just smiled. The older man disappeared but only for a moment and when he returned, he sat down on the bed beside you. He offered you a crinkled old plastic bottle of murky water. Your eyes grew with wonder and excitement before you snatched the bottle and chugged down as much as you could of the valuable liquid, savoring every last drop.
âSlow down, sweetheart, or you might drown yourself.â A heavenly smile played on the older manâs lips and his chuckled as his hand lingered on the bottle to make sure you didnât choke. When you started to sputter, he lowered the bottle and his smile sweetened as you wiped your mouth with the back of your hand. âBetter?â He seemed pleased when you nodded and stood once again. âWe got some food cookinâ too whenever youâre up for it.â They both smiled when your head nodded again and thanked them in a hoarse whisper.
âSam!â The sudden yell from outside the ten made you jump. When had you gotten so jumpy? The voice sounded like an older male, more raw and gruff You started to think that maybe you should be worried, a frail young woman in the grasps of three men. And yet you couldnât be more at ease.
The taller man gently lifted you off of his lap and onto the spot that the other man had vacated. They chuckled when you pouted and curled into the jacket that swallowed you whole. âWeâll be right outside. We got you some clothes. They may not fit you well but they will be more protective and warm.â The man outside yelled again, this time yelling two names. You figured out that the taller one was Sam and the older one must be Dean. âThatâs our dad.â Sam explained before taking his leave. Dean offered you a charming smile before following at his brotherâs heels.
Brothers and a father. Was it just the three of them or were there more? People like her, strays that they had picked up and helped along the way? Charity and kindness was rare in this day and age and it made you  cautious, untrusting of their sincerity and motives. You had nothing to give them. You had no supplies or belongings, no skills that would make her useful in a group. You were barely skin and bones. There was no reason for them to want to keep you around. When your mind drifted into dirtier places, your whole body warmed and blushed. You were a virgin, inexperienced and far too small for them to take what they wanted from you.
All these thoughts sent you into a spiral, making you lightheaded again. That might have been more due to the fact that you couldnât breath. Great, you were hyperventilating. As if they could hear you struggling, the tent door flung open but it wasnât Sam or Dean this time. This man was just as breathtaking as his sons, aged and rugged, salt and pepper hair and eyes that were just as genuine and soft as he rushed to your side. Two large hands rested on your shoulders, engulfing the expanse of your skin. When spots started to form in the corner of your eyes, the sound of his gruff voice pierced through the ringing in your ears.
âBreathe, sweetheart.â He then took in a breath and let it out slowly in example, doing it again to urge you to copy his actions. He kept his gaze locked with yours as your breathing fell in sync with his. When your breathing regulated, he smiled faintly and seemed to relax. âThatta girl.â He praised and it brought a smile to your chapped lips. His hazel eyes twinkled, they werenât as green as Deanâs or a kaleidoscopic as Samâs but they were no less mystifying. âGet dressed and come get some grub before you have another panic attack, hmm?â His large hand patted your cheek as he tossed you a wink and just as fast as he entered, he had exited.
You didnât waste any more time and tossed the leather coat aside and stood up, slowly this time so as not to get dizzy. Looking at your rags, your nose wrinkled and you couldnât believe you had been wearing them so long without them just falling off. They were dirty and they reeked and you felt shame. Three gorgeous men had found you in this condition. It seemed like a weird thing to feel at the moment, the end of the world and you were worried about looking and smelling bad in the presence of men. It actually made you laugh to yourself and you toss your old clothes and dressed in the clothes provided. They were right in saying they wouldnât fit too well but they were soft and warm and probably the best thing you had ever felt against your body. They were old and clearly used but what wasnât nowadays? They were still in better shape than anything you had ever owned.
When you were done, you put the jacket back on and pushed the tent open slowly. The sun that you thought had been rising was actually setting and dusk was falling over the land. Your eyes widened and you had never stopped to look at a sunset. How a world so ugly and broken could ever deserve such a beautiful work of art like this, you would never understand.
âAinât that a pretty sight.â A voice broke you from your revelry and you smiled, nodding as you turned your head away from the view.
âI donât think Dean meant the sunset.â Sam added with a crooked grin and a light chuckle. A blush warmed your face and your eyes dropped. You had never been timid, quiet yes but you were confident and bold usually. But for some reason, you felt so shy and small in the company of the brothers. You were surely not a pretty sight, not in comparison to them but the thought was nice.
The awkward moment thankfully didnât last long for John declared that dinner was ready. You had noticed now that they had set up camp in the rubble you had passed out in the last night you remembered. It hid them well enough even though it was open and easily overcome. But they had used stones and the dried greenery to make a night little dining area complete with a campfire. Hanging from a branch over the fire was a dented and worn out old pot, half full of who knew what. It smelled awful and didnât look much better but you couldnât help but brighten at the sight of food.
You were starving and you had no doubt you could easily out eat all three of them tonight. They allowed you to go first, dipping a generous helping of the slop onto a flat rock and handing it to you. It was still hot when you dug your fingers into it and shoved it into your mouth like a ravenous animal. Instead of looking at you with judgement, John smiled, more pleased with the fact that you were eating than concerned about how you were eating it. The stuff didnât taste as bad as it smelled but you werenât about to ask what it was. Not that it would make a difference, you had once stolen a squishy colored mass from a skinny rat once. Whatever this was had to be better than that.
They ate slower and more civilized, picking at the mush with sticks and broken utensils. They carried on comfortable conversation with each other and you just listened as you ate. They told stories, passing tales back and forth and joining in laughter and jokes. It made you smile to see such a happy familial unit on the brink of the end of the world. It was almost like you were within four sturdy walls around a dining room table enjoying a fine holiday meal with loved ones instead of sitting in dimly lit ruins with complete strangers eating slop.
Their attention turned to you when you finally set your rock aside after licking every last molecule off of the rough surface. âThank you.â You whispered meekly and John nodded in acknowledgement. âI canât remember the last time Iâve eaten.â You still didnât trust your voice at full volume so you continued to whisper. In the wide open area, you were still heard clearly plus they were intently trained on you.
âSleeping for three days will also do that to you.â Samâs brow wrinkled with his sympathetic smile. Your eyes widened at the number of days he mentioned in absolute shock. You looked between the other two men as if to ask for confirmation. Deanâs shoulders shrugged and John nodded. A soft wow passed through your parted lips. âWith how dehydrated you were plus the malnutrition, I donât know how youâve stayed alive this long. Youâre really luckyâŚâ He looked at you expectantly and it took you a moment to pick up on what he wanted.
âY/N.â You finally croaked. âY/N Y/L/Nâ
Another smile made his dimples deepen. âNice to meet you, Y/N. Iâm sure youâre already figured out that Iâm Sam, thatâs my older brother, Dean.â His head turned slightly to look where his finger pointed and Dean waved. âAnd our dad, John.â The oldest man nodded in your direction with a smile. You returned the gesture, still blushing under their gazes, which seemed more intense than they were meant. âWeâre the Winchesters.â His smile seemed to be one of pride at his surname but the smile dropped when he saw your expression.
You couldnât say that you were happy to hear that name for all you knew of the Winchesters were the legends, the horrible stories that had been going through communities everywhere since the beginning of the end. Rising from your chair, they all stood to their feet, startling you even more.
âY/N, look, weâre not who you think we are.â Dean tried to explain, a hand reaching out in front of him to try and placate you. âYou canât believe what people say about us. Weâre not gonna hurt you.â
âWhy should I trust you?â Your voice sounded so frail and frightened that you almost didnât recognize it.
John took a step forward, his expression remaining calm and stoic but his eyes spoke nothing but compassion. âWe could have left you here, left you to die, or worse. We didnât have to bring you back to health or feed or clothe you. If we were the monsters people believe us to be, why would be stay here for three days to make sure youâre ok?â He spoke valid reasoning and you couldnât help but trust them even though logic told you not to.
Looking into the eyes of each man one at a time, all you saw were humans fighting for survival and trying to hold onto their humanity just like you. Â But all lies and legends have truth woven within so it made you think what they could have done to start the tales you had heart most of your life. And if they were so elusive, what were the odds they would find little old you in the middle of nowhere as you were on the edge of dying? How could the Winchesters of the myths be kind and sympathetic to you?
They all relaxed when your body visually calmed and the tension between the four of you lightened. Your head nodded though this was a sign of your resignation, you werenât ready to take your seat among them again. Perhaps you needed time to process but you took your leave. Instead of going to the tent though, you curled up in the spot where they had found you and curled up in the big leather jacket.
You werenât sure when you had drifted off into a dreamless sleep but you knew it couldnât have been long before you were awoken by distant sounds. When a blue light flushed, you were quick on your feet. You knew what that light meant and it was about this time you would make a run for it. But you remembered the men that were in and around the tent not ten feet away. With as much speed as you could muster, you sprinted toward the tent and darted in, passing Sam and Dean sprawled out on the ground outside. John was in the cot and he jolts when you shake him gently. You shush him with a finger to your lips and a hand on his shoulder.
He saw the fear in your eyes and wasted no time tossing the blanket aside and jumped to feet. Putting a hand in front of you, he pushed you back behind him and grabbed what looked like a hand crafted stone sword. You were trembling with fear and wrapping your arms around his free hand, you followed close. He peeked his head out of the tent and the blue light had grown brighter, meaning it was getting closer. He cast a quick glance to his sons before backing into the tent and turning to you.
He spoke more with his eyes than he could with words and then he gave you a smile. You hoped it wasnât the first time you would see it. He darted out after that, kicking his sons awake before beginning to pack what little belongings they had. They told you to wait in the tent until they come to get you. And even though you wanted to argue, the look Dean gave you made you keep silent. You could hear them moving around outside, talking in hushed whispers.
They seemed angry and frantic and when Sam came in to fetch you and the things in the tent, you could see that he was upset. Not in an enraged way but he seemed as if he was grieved. You surprised yourself when you paused and you put a hand on his cheek just in time to catch a few stray tears. He closed his eyes and leaned into your touch, not a sign of a cold hearted and feral killer like he was rumored to be.
Sam only allowed the soft moment for a quick second before he took your hand and pulled you from the tent. Dean already had a bag strapped to his back and his hands on pull bars of a two wheeled cart behind him. Sam lifted you off your feet without warning and set you in the wagon before he quickly took down the tent and covered you with it. You didnât see John anywhere and you began to see why Sam had been distressed. You hoped you were wrong but something told you that all your worse case scenarios were probably right. It wasnât long before you felt the cart jostling and bouncing along. Dean was running now, pulling you behind him.
You could hear Sam running beside you and when you lifted the leather just to have one last look at the light, you could see him moving at a brisk pace. In the distance, haloed by blue iridescence, the tall lean form of John Winchester shadowed the sky. He held his sword proudly but he would never use it. There was a loud scream and he was scattered throughout the light. The scream had been yours but the soft crying came from the two strong men who were now orphaned just like you.

Warnings: Alive!Gabriel, mention of torture, mention of the cage, mention of Michael
Authorâs Note: So I know itâs been ages since I posted something here. This was sitting in my folders waiting to be posted so here you go, guys. Even so, the polybingo is over. Thanks for Beta-reading @tngrayson.
Gabriel could feel Samâs distress from miles away.
âNightmare. Again,â he muttered to himself, sighing as he looked down the Grand Canyon. It was not that he was annoyed by Samâs nightmares. He was annoyed by the fact that he had them at all, and he hated the fact that he couldnât do anything to help. Applying is mojo on his boyfriendâs mind only helped so much and he wasnât able to do it often in fear he of further breaking it.
âOn my way, kiddo,â Gabriel murmured, spreading his wings and disappearing from the Grand Canyon in the blink of an eye.
The next moment, he appeared in the motel room Dean and Sam were sharing, his gaze immediately seeking out his boyfriend on the bed farest away from the door.
âAh hell,â he whispered as he saw the distress on Samâs face and the way his eyes moved rapidly under his eyelids. He didnât make a sound. Like always.
Gabriel sat on the edge of the bed, his hand running through Samâs hair in an attempt to calm him down.
âItâs alright, Sam. Iâm here know. Iâm sorry I took so long,â he said in a soothing voice. âCome on, kiddo. Wake up.â
It took a few minutes of Gabriel stroking Samâs hair and murmuring calming words but the taller man finally calmed down and woke up.
âGabe,â Sam whispered with a hoarse voice after his eyes found his. âYouâre here.â
âAnd I always will be, kiddo,â replied the archangel, smiling softly.
Sam reciprocated it, albeit a bit weakly, but he was just glad that he did at all.
âWanna talk about it?â Gabriel asked, slipping under the blanket with Sam to take him in his arms.
âJust the same dream I always have. Iâm always burning, crying out for Lucifer to help me and him being powerless to do anything against Michael,â he answered, sighing as he snuggled against the angel.
Gabriel said nothing. He just stroked Samâs back in a soothing manner, waiting for him to continue.
âSometimes it was like that you know? Sometimes Lucifer was trapped by the cage and could only watch as your brother tutored me. Michael was always so angry,â Sam explained further. âOther times, I remember Lucifer embracing me with his arms and wings. I remember the light and the soothing warmth he always radiated. It gave me hope. Maybe someday we would escape the cage together and finally be free to reunite with you.â
âYou are free, Sam,â Gabriel said, kissing his forehead. âAnd Iâm here.â
âBut Lucifer isnât. Heâs still in the cage with Michael. Heâs alone and suffering!â
âI know,â the angel whispered. âI wish every second of everyday that I could do something to help him, but I canât. Iâm sorry.â The cage was made impenetrable after Sam got out, even for an archangel. It hurt that he could do nothing for his brother.
âItâs not your fault, you donât have to apologize,â Sam responded softly, planting a kiss on Gabrielâs cheek.
They lay there in silence for a while, each lost in their own thoughts.
âI miss him,â Samâs voice broke the stillness in the room.
âMe too,â Gabriel answered, hugging him tighter to him. âOne day, weâll have him back with us. I promise.â
âI hope that day will come sooner rather than later.â
âMaybe it will come quicker than we think,â Gabriel said, his eyes going upwards.
âPlease father, bring him back to us. Lucifer doesnât deserve to trapped in the cage forever. Hasnât he suffered enough? Please. I beg you. We need him with us.â

âIâm not sitting in the back again!â Cas says as he folds his arms over his chest.Â
The dark-gray comforter he clunches in one hand almost touches the pavement. Benny grabs one corner and lifts it up as he says, âAgain? I was sitting in the back the last time!â
Cas rips the comforter out from his hand and hugs the bundle to his chest. Almost as if he thinks Benny wants to take it from him.Â
âIt was a five minute ride to Target,â Cas says, matter of factly and thatâs when Dean decides to intervene because heâs not having it at 4 am. He opens his mouth to say something, but Bennyâs quicker.
âI thought you wanted to sleep?â Benny asks Cas and  yeah, Dean thinks he has a point.
âI can sleep on Deanâs shoulder,â Cas says while he steps closer to the front door of the Impala.
Benny blocks his way before Cas can reach out for the door handle. âHeâs driving, heâs not gonna cuddle you,â Benny says as he opens the door for himself.
âYou can switch places, you know,â Dean says, attempting to make peace.
âKnowing you, we wonât stop until we get to Samâs,â Benny tells him and Castiel nods along with an odd expression, as if it pains him to agree with Benny.
âItâs a seven hours drive,â Dean says, baffled that his boyfriends think he can go that long without eating. âWe gotta stop around 8 for breakfast.â
âIâll have to pee much sooner than that,â Castiel says and he tries to push himself into the passenger seat, but Bennyâs like a line of wall between him and the car.
âGo back to the house for a pillow and sleep in the back,â Benny says while he climbs into the car. He wants to close the door, but Cas stops it.Â
His comforter is dragging on the floor as he lets it go with one hand. Benny grabs it again, rolling his eyes. âDo us a favour and take a pee while youâre inside,â he tells Cas while he pushes the comforter into Casâs hand.
âThatâs enough!â Dean yells at them, having had enough. âYou both sit in the back,â he folds his arms to show that heâs being serious. They should be on their way now, but instead his boyfriends are arguing in their front yard like preschoolers.
Thereâs dead silence. None of them knows how to react and Deanâs pleased with himself. He wills away the smug smile that threatens to appear on his face and says, âCome on, Cas, get in the back.â
Dean sees hurt flashing over Casâ face, but he canât go soft now, so he looks away. Stepping to the car, he tells Benny, âDid you not hear me?â
Bennyâs eyes are round with surprise. Good, Dean thinks. Heâs giddy with the feeling of being the boss for once. He motions for Benny to climb out of the car and shut the door, then he walks around the Impala to the driverâs side.
âGet in now!â he says when he sees that his boyfriends are not making a move to get in the back seat. âWeâre already late,â he tells them for good measure, hoping that they would feel at least a bit guilty and get their acts together.
Not looking at them twice, Dean climbs into the car and waits. He hears two doors shut, and looks into the rearview mirror to see that Benny and Cas are sitting at opposite ends of the seat. After a sigh, he starts the engine.
âStop staring at me like that,â comes Bennyâs voice from the back and Dean rolls his eyes.Â
Theyâve been sitting in silence for half an hour, but whenever he looked back, Cas was staring at Benny. By the time Dean looks at them in the rearview mirror, Casâ head is turned to the window on his own side.Â
A few minutes pass, when thereâs some movement in the back. Dean has to see whatâs happening in case one of them is trying to strangle the other or something. Turns out, itâs just Cas, taking off his shoes to pull his legs up to the seat.
The next time Dean looks at them, Cas has the comforter wrapped around his body, and this time itâs Benny whoâs glaring. Dean hopes heâs not gonna pick another fight with Cas right before heâs finally going to sleep.
One of his favorite things about road trips is the music. But heâs not gonna blast Metallica when Cas needs a few more hours of sleep. He was just going to have a nice little chat with Benny until his other boyfriend slept.
Silence settles over them again, and Deanâs afraid that Benny mightâve choked Cas in his sleep so he has to check on them. Casâ eyes are closed, with his head leaned against the window. Bennyâs glaring at him like he didnât just complain about the same damn thing.
âDude,â Dean says and itâs a mistake. Cas opens his eyes to look straight at Benny. Dean shakes his head and decides to focus all his attention on the road. He had enough, heâs not a damn babysitter for his boyfriends.
He hears some movement again, but he purposely doesnât look. Those two can wrestle in the back seat for all he cares. As long as his Baby doesnât suffer any damage, that is. But they know better than to hurt his Baby.
The noise stops and no one says a word. Deanâs curious about whatâs going on. He stops himself from looking back, but he has to look into the rearview mirror sometimes and his boyfriends are sitting right in his sight.Â
Of course theyâre cuddling. What else would two dudes do who supposedly hate each other. Cuddle. Damn Dean if he understands those two.Â
The next time he looks into the mirror, Benny catches his eye and asks, âWhat? I wasnât gonna let him get grease on your Babyâs window with his messy hair.â
âMy hairâs not greasy!â yells Cas, lifting his head from Bennyâs shoulder.
âLook, heâs talking in his sleep,â says Benny with a grin. Cas narrows his eyes at him, but Dean has to look back at the road, so he has no idea how long their little staring match lasts.
Itâs past 7 when Deanâs stomach starts to rumble. He pulls up at the next roadhouse that comes their way. They thought about bringing some sandwiches to eat in the car at the side of the road somewhere, but a road trip is no fun if you canât try some food specialties along the way.
He finds a parking place far away from the rest of the cars; he doesnât want to risk a newbie driver scratching his Baby during parking, or curious truck drivers putting their hands all over her polished hood.
He stops the engine and turns in the seat to look at his boyfriends. Bennyâs already started to gently wake Cas up with a hand in his hair, the other still around his shoulder.
Cas slowly blinks his eyes open and tilts his chin up for a kiss that Benny happily gives to him. Itâs only a peck, but it makes Dean melt. He doesnât understand how they can go from angry glares to soft cuddles. Theyâre more of an old married couple than Bobby and Ellen, the old grump said it himself.
Cas buries his head into Bennyâs neck, but his eyes remain open so Dean knows heâs trying to wake himself up and not go back to sleep. Benny keeps playing with Casâ mess of a hair. Dean has half a mind to ask him if itâs greasy, but he doesnât want to ruin the moment.
âIâm sorry,â Cas quietly mumbles as he nuzzles Bennyâs beard on the side of his face.
ââs okay,â Benny tells him with a kiss on his temple. âSorry, cher,â he turns to Dean, âfor being a buncha babies.â
Dean smiles at them as he says, âYou should know better than to try a sleep deprived Casâ patience.â Cas winces at that, knowing that heâs guilty. âYou still need some work on your morning attitude,â Dean tells his other boyfriend, âbut you're forgiven.â
He moves to open his door and climbs out of the car. He leans back in to say, âHurry up, Iâm hungry!â before shutting the door. He starts walking towards the roadhouse, leaving the other two in the car. By the time he reaches the door, Benny and Cas are right behind him, arguing if waffles or pancakes are the best breakfast food.
