Since ive been drawing inklings/Octolings recently, hereβs a design guide for them I found on Pinterest (I think itβs the original artist too, I did a reverse image search to check). This is only for βcanonβ design features though, not a strict set of rules lol

For anyone who canβt see images, hereβs the notes they make
Inklings:
6 tentacles, gets thicker at the end
Suckers on the white side/inside
Usually thin eyebrows
Have plus/star or round pupils
Three fangs, can be mirrored
Pointy ears
Fingers are square/fry shaped
Octolings:
4 tentacles, gets thinner at the end
Suckers on the ink side/outside
Usually thick eyebrows
Have Octo or round pupils
Two fangs on opposite sides
Round ears
Fingers are pointy/slim and wiggly
Both:
no tongues!
Tentacles usually gradient darker, and has lighter patterns
Requests from the Loving Splatoon OCs Discord to do some shading tests. I'm fairly happy with this style and will probably use it moving forward.

Throwback Thursday to Pearl, right as the last splatfest has wrapped up π It was exactly 2 years ago that I made her final pattern!
Pearl was a pretty complicated plush to make and originally I wasn't charging nearly enough for her so I retired the design. I think with my new machine though I'll be able to make her much more efficiently so perhaps I'll bring her back and finish the other idols as well??
