I am back from my three week camping trip in Namibia and it was absolutely fantastic! Such a gorgeous country, great for travelling, incredibly rich in animal species and marvellous landscape. We experienced some adventures (no fuel at two gas stations in the middle of nowhere, serious 4-wheel-driving which made me forget to breathe, bush fire up close,...) and of course many animal sightings. We were very lucky, also with our gear - not even one flat tire or broken windshield in 4.500km!

Loved it! And that car really is a forbidden dream of mine 🤭

The Spitzkoppe Mountain is an isolated and unique environment on the interior fringe of the Namib desert. Not only does it showcase the most striking geological formations in Namibia, it also offers the biggest collection of diverse rock art sites in Namibia. Close to 40 sites clearly shows art from our hunter-gatherer ancestors, dating back to the introduction of livestock in the last millennium. To have visited Namibia, one must tick visiting the Spitzkoppe Rock Art on your list of "to do's". These sites can be visited by means of guided tours or by obtaining a permit at reception. Tours or self drive can also include visits to unique rock formations like the "bridge" or pools.

Die Spitzkoppe ist ein isolierter und einzigartiger Berg am inneren Rand der Namib-Wüste. Er zeigt nicht nur die markantesten geologischen Formationen Namibias, sondern bietet auch die größte Sammlung verschiedener Felskunststätten in Namibia. Fast 40 Stätten zeigen anschaulich Kunst unserer Jäger-Sammler-Vorfahren, die bis zur Einführung der Viehzucht im letzten Jahrtausend zurückreichen. Um Namibia besucht zu haben, muss man den Besuch der Spitzkoppe Rock Art auf der To-Do-Liste ankreuzen. Diese Stätten können im Rahmen von Führungen oder durch Einholen einer Genehmigung an der Rezeption besichtigt werden. Touren von Selbstfahrern können auch Besuche von einzigartigen Felsformationen wie der "Brücke" oder Pools beinhalten.
