More of Wednesday chores-
I got out front and did more snipping and cleaning. It is starting to look a little better but it was getting hot already. I cleaned out around and under the Spirea and I still got a few flowers on them. The second pic is the hosta flowers out front.
I watched a video on pruning tomato plants and tried my hand at that. As I was pruning I thought I kept hearing a little voice underneath saying ow-ow son of a bitch 😂. At least the underside has a little more ventilation now.
The last one is of a scruffy looking robin I caught just before it flew away out back. The wildfire smoke is getting closer, it’s only about 70 miles north and closing in fast. 🙁
Hope your Wednesday is going well 👍
I do like that the spirea blloms in pink and white on the same plant. Bees like it too.
I was out front pulling a few weeds just now but it has been hard to keep up with this year.
The spirea out front still look pretty good. There are many weeds and grasses in there but I’m doing the best I can.
Today was garbage day and I put three barrels of trimmings and weeds out for recycling. I prefer to a lot of shrub trimming by hand but carpal tunnel problems has stopped much of that.
Gettin old sucks 🤨
Just sitting pretty

Photo Series: Life in Drumbo: "Framing the Spirea" by Ken Whytock Via Flickr: Drumbo, Ontario June 2026 Journal: The colours are nice and the lines are strong.
Out in front, my Spirea bushes really seem to really like these thunderstorms of the last couple days. Here is a closer look while they last.
I have two of these out front. The one on the left side seems to be going crazy this year. What a show off.
I am taking a couple minutes break from house cleaning and wanted to share these. I still a resting for the most part but I have to chip away at vacuuming and cleaning.
Here is a closer look at the above bush. I just love this color. It has been dark all day so far but we have not gotten any more rain since this morning’s post.
Thursday is slowly chugging along. 😃
White blossoms at the edge of summer.
