I see Spinerella and Netossa as the Princesses that have the least personal beef with Catra. And that’s due to them having a lot longer view of the war than the other princesses and the audience.

They were in the original Princess Alliance, so have been fighting for more than ten years. Whereas the other Princesses only started fighting in the last couple of years of the war, same as Catra. So that to them Catra almost became synonymous with the Horde and its aggression. She is the one they saw fighting at the most pivotal battles and leading the Horde.

That’s not the same with Spinnerella and Netossa. They’ve seen Force Captains come and go. They would have had major losses to people we have never seen or heard of. Catra was just another person in a long line they have fought. And for the most part it didn’t show Catra and them actually fighting, though that might have happened off screen. But they are also older and more war experienced. Less likely to view these fights as personal vendettas amongst each other.

#spinnerella #netossa #Catra #spop #spop meta #I think fandom often loses sight of how long in world wars are #like Catra came in at the last three years #and Catra was only second in command for at most two #the war was at least thirty years long #I HC it as around 40 #so that’s a small amount of time in the overall picture #but it’s all the time for the audience #and most of the princesses #but less of a factor for older characters #so I don’t see townsfolk’s hating Catra in particular like so many fics

Shout out to Spinnerella and Netossa, started the series as a joke and barely more than background characters, and then came in during the last season to deliver so much heart and angst for the final conflicts.
