Tomorrow, dec 9th, is the 10 year anniversary of my spinal fusion
December 9th, 2014, my life changed forever
I have even more hardware now. But just as importantly, I’ve been on T for 9 years. I’ve had abdominal surgery and an appendectomy. I’ve had top surgery which makes me so happy. My body has been through so much and I’ve worked so hard to make it strong.
May I make it another 10 years with these hilarious rods and be here at the end to tell you all about it.

A shark with a spinal deformity has been sighted several times near the Neptune Islands south of Port Lincoln.
Research has found that water temperatures 3 degrees above normal caused spinal deformities in 18% of Port Jackson Sharks. While this research hasn't been conducted on great whites it could have "scary" implication for all teleost fish.

I love her so much I want her to be happy
Claiming all body pillows are cringe and bad is at least a little ableist.
I have a spinal deformity, it is minor enough in degree that it isn't considered a disability for me
I need a body pillow and I need to use it, otherwise my back pain is significantly worse and I have trouble sleeping.
If I, a person who isn't affected as badly get such awful effects from not using it, imagine how much worse it would be if my condition was "debilitating" according to the govt
Also, why do you care if there's some anime/whatever character on the pillowcase???
Just my thoughts, if you have more information or would like to correct some of mine feel free to.

This is mostly US-based, so the data about treatments may be different in your country. Please consult a medical professional if you have any questions about treatments for scoliosis.
I’ve been living with scoliosis for almost eleven years now. I wore a back brace for two of those and had surgery eight years ago. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me if you have scoliosis and would like to talk to someone about your experiences.
I AM NOT A DOCTOR. I can not stress this enough. This is just meant to generally inform people, NOT to offer medical advice. Please consult a medical professional if you have any concerns related to scoliosis.

i saw a comic the other day that was describing a very real abuse tactic very accurately, but it bothered me how the abuser was drawn. their back was crooked and their face was sort of twisted, and their eyes were squinted.
i know it probably wasn’t the attention, the author said they tried to draw the abusers as a “silly monster”, as they had a simplistic and child-like art style, but to me it sounded like having those features made you monster-like.
just rubbed me the wrong way i guess… idk lol
This is deformimisia. People with spinal deformities and craniofacial deformities exist.
When you use physical characteristics to represent behavior, you're spreading stereotypes about people who actually have those traits.
The squinted eyes also could be interpreted as a racial thing, potentially.
This shitty fuckass ad I keep seeing here on Tumblr dot com
Should change its name to Kingshit
This is deformimisia.
[ID: A photo of a white-appearing person with short hair, sitting on a mattress in a bedroom, with a blue t-shirt and black shorts. Their back is edited to be arched to an extreme, looking like a severe form of kyphosis. The text reads "POV: You've been playing Kingshot all day bc it's so much fun and ad free." The photo paired the text is implying that the kyphosis is due to strain on the back from looking at the phone.]
