frigid air quickly filled his lungs and having been in his human form for so long without recharging, most of his energy had been spent. what was this foreign feeling in his bones? in his chest? it tightly wound around him like an ice serpent and the more he tried to breathe, the tighter it squeezed.
fingers grasped at his throat -- almost shut tight -- and he did his best to summon the fire that burned inside him. the damned hellish power that was passed down from his unmentionable father. it never came. fingertips only grew colder and he wheezed out a cough. she was powerful, whatever she was.
everything flashed before him far too quickly. she panicked, he withered. but all at once, clover felt free from frozen grasps and he took in a deep BREATH, letting the warmer air around him consume him entirely before he willed fire to extremities. ❝ you... ❞ clover started, heaving in deep breaths on the ground as he looked up to meet her icy gaze. even when she cried, tears froze upon contact with her cheeks.
❝ i-i don’t understand. that.. that shouldn’t have happened, ❞ the silver-haired prince muttered, unable to comprehend how he was rendered so weak around her. and that she felt guilty? had she really no control over something so powerful? ❝ n-no, it’s fine. you don’t... have to make up for it. really, i’m okay. it was more uncomfortable than anything else. ❞
HOW MANY TIMES does she have to be smacked in the face by a particularly large && green && annoying leaf before enough is enough? Not many times, apparently. The joy of being allowed to fly across the heavens && earth is almost erased by the annoyance of foliage. Her winds, even though connected to her, was unthinking; picking up stray branches and leaves and everything as if they were nothing.
It’s all his fault. His.
Stomping, as much as she could mid-air, her breeze takes her to him, a flurry of activity with no relief. The latest offender, a spiky branch that had almost scratched her nose; this, she tosses in his direction with a frown. His fault.
“No. More. Leaves.”

FIRST FIVE ASKS GET A KISS || 2/5
Why not both??
Spending time with Luna had become the highlight of Lucille’s day. In this particular instance, it was night, but nevertheless, the soundless spirit was having fun alongside her friend. Truly, the guardian had nestled her way into becoming someone Lucille found to be treasured, especially on escapades such as tonight.
While Luna floated on her stars, Lucille took up on a whirl of air, laying back on her back as if swimming through the night’s breeze. A deep, unnecessary breath was taken as she looked up happily to her companion, a rather large note hovering a few feet above her splayed out stomach to communicate easier with the other spirit. Of course the star lights said simple things, such as ‘yes’ and ‘no,’ but it was harder for the little lights to make more than melodic noises.
Laughter caught Lucille’s attention, one of the three stars coming to prod her shoulder to pull her focus to the source. Flipping around in the air, a billowing of her tattered white dress, the woman saw below them the man she had met on New Years. Once again, he had drink in hand and seemed to be alone.
‘One minute, Luna.’ Lucille issued across her note, nodding for Wind to drop her down to level with the man. Without a moment’s waste, Lucille fell several yards rapidly, the parchment lingering in place, only to have small gales form under her feet, keeping her aloft in front of the man a few inches above the ground.
Another note formed, her lips moving slowly to form her words. ‘We meet again.’ She offered the paper to him, not afraid this time to allow him to see the magic. After all, she was only dropping in as a dream in his stupor. Once he read it, she pressed past his hands and leaned in, brushing her lips against his own. Sweet, soft, and brief, Lucille could taste the alcohol lingering on the edges of his mouth and silently giggled at the taste.
Adding to the note with a small wave of her hand, the spirit withdrew from him, offering a wink. ‘For your kindness on New Years.’ It read, before she cocked her head, causing Wind to shoot her back up into the sky to rejoin Luna and the note she had left up beside her friend.
The girl was all smiles when she returned, but saw that the Guardian was not of similar expression. ‘What?’ Lucille questioned, batting her eyes in confusion. ‘The note will disappear in a few minutes and he was sloshed. He’ll think an angel kissed him.’
When that did not seem to resolve it, a sly grin crossed her features as a thought entered her mind. ‘Oh, I understand. Perhaps someone wants my kisses too?’ She teased, reaching forward and wrapping her arms around Luna, slipping onto the cloud of stars. Whether or not the other struggled was irrelevant to the alabaster woman and she began to kiss Luna’s cheeks with soft, fluttering kisses. Once one cheek was effectively covered in pecks, she would move across her nose and onto the other cheek, until there was hardly an inch on her face that Lucille had not placed a small kiss on.
‘You can always ask for some, you are more than welcome to my kisses any time, Luna.’

“Hi-!” He was very excited to see his friend home, happy to greet him with a hug. “I missed you-!”It was one of the few rare moments he showed such pure excitement.
“Um-” Well, it seemed he noticed he was a bit over excited, standing back on his heels. “How was your day-?” By this point, one would expect him to live to ask such a question.

Character Development Questions + @spellbiinding
3. What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?
he doesn’t have any real parents !! if he has a supposed “father”, he never met him !! kei is a dream eater, a being created out of the spare parts of animals when the gods were done making all the animals.
7. Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares?
he doesn’t exactly dream that much, and he’s not sure if they can be called be nightmares, for they’re too blurry for him to make sense of, but safe is something he rarely feels when he does.
14. Does your character remember names or faces easier?
faces definitely. he’s been around for a long time but by god cannot remember anyone’s names off the top of his head unless he’s close with them. faces are usually rather self-explanatory.
28. How quick or slow is your character to resort to physical violence in a confrontation?
kei isn’t here to fight. in fact, he’s a little tired of it, and wishes to live a peaceful life, but that doesn’t mean he can’t actually be threathening. kei mainly uses self-defense. if you got him so mad or cornered for him to resort to violence, honey, you’ve got a big storm comin’.

"I tend to notice little details like that. I wouldn't say I'm observant, but when there's a pattern like that, I tend notice. " He had went back to check what he had seen, noting how whenever he had asked the towns folk would say, 'Oh yes, the clock is right. It's 2:06.' Even his phone's clock had been stopped at that time, despite him swearing that his bus had stopped here at 3 o'clock. The wrong bus stop too. He originally had been meaning to go to the beach, had waited for another bus, and here he was. He was still here. "I wouldn't be surprised if it was cursed. There's definitely something going on."

The scenery was starting to look all too repetitive. He was seeing the same crooked trees, the same fallen logs laying among ferns and toadstools as the evening mist ghosted coldly in the air. It was a little late to start thinking about what could have possibly gone wrong, though, for the answer was already peering at him in smug victory from where it stayed carved neatly into bark: a charm.
With a long, heavy sigh, the wizard dropped his shoulders in defeat. How could he have missed that? He was no novice, and stuff like that was standard in just about any forest that had something particularly special going on. It should have come as no surprise - the strange pressure that had formed into the pit of his stomach when he had approached the woods should have raised a few questions, but for whatever reason, he had chosen to pay it no mind. Perhaps he was just tired from the long hours of rituals with the wizards and the idea of there being other practitioners of magic around hadn’t even crossed his mind...turns out that his habit of ditching the usual route for random shortcuts was finally backfiring.
Sitting down on a log with the wizard’s staff leaning against his shoulder, the young redhead rested his elbows on his knees and stared up at the charm in silence. It was not unlike the stuff that he had carved into his own forest, but he could tell it was a very powerful spell and he did not have the energy to think of ways to break it. At least not on an empty stomach.
