The way he's staring at the mermaid's tongue all the while. That fuckinggg look in his eyes oh my godd. I just KNEW he was going to make a run for it and then when he took his time I was lulled into a false sense of security

And then

THIS

FUCKING

MOMENT.

CHILLS. UNNERVED ME TO MY CORE EVEN WHEN I KNEW IT WAS COMING

That fucking dead eyed stare. The turning off of the lights immediately after this. The knowledge that he was GOING to talk to the mermaid, the creature that mentally and physically scarred mortuga for life and caused all that damage to the aft deck—

And then when you arrive to see this.

It's SO GOOD. IT'S SO GOOD

Everything about this ending was exactly what I missed in the previous one– the resolution was absolutely top-notch
