one time i (a sped student) was having an argument with this girl (not sped student) about special needs schools during class and this guy (not sped student) at our table heard us and said "wait sped like... autistic?" and burst out laughing along with the girl. this happened twice during our argument, and she laughed like it was the funniest thing both times.
how the fuck do you expect me to listen to you about sped issues when you're laughing at sped people for being disabled.

btw her argument was based on what her non sped boyfriend who went to a sped school (the school i went to) said. she did bring up good points but none of those were about sped people specifically, even though that's what the conversation was on.
