i didn’t relate to this character’s story but her personality traits and silence are some things i totally recognized myself in. she was soo introverted and seen by many people as depressed, which let them push her away. she couldn’t find the energy to do anything about it though. she quiekly found her passion, painting. mine is making music. it saved me. that quiet vibe melinda gives off is exactly like bella swan in twilight, played by my girl kristen again!

the bond she has with her mother is the exact one I have with my father, except for the cannibalism. i feel like in that one scene where Lee said “I love you, bones and all”, represented the love they have for each other and how they admire everything in them, flaws and all. I’m glad to say I found my Lee, and that’s where I find myself in Maren again.

Me and my best friend S.B. watched this movie a few months after we turned thirteen and let’s just say it has had a really big impact on our lives. We took on Tracy’s role in our own ways. she was extremely influenced by her Evie and pretty much turned her back to me. meanwhile I got influenced by people I met that were connected to my boyfriends’ bestfriend, and since I met them all I could think about was Tracy. I’ve done seriously everything at the ripe age of 13. no regrets, crazy consequences. the peer pressure Tracy experienced was way more relatable than I expected.
