Honestly it's been a few months since I read it so I don't remember all of the particulars but my main complaints were the characterisation of Darcy didn't track with how I see him and fundamentally I found the notion of Darcy pouring his heart out into a diary to be absurd. I thought perhaps it wasn't a literal diary and was just an exploration of his thought processes but no, at one point he did address it in some 'dear diary,' type manner which took me out entirely. I think it placed far too much emphasis on Georgiana's near-elopement in affecting his attitude when he arrived in Meryton and overall portrayed him too sympathetically for my liking. He sucked at the start and it's fine to admit that!

I won't say which ones to avoid because I wouldn't want to dissuade you from any of them, you might enjoy something that didn't click with me! Ultimately all P&P variations/sequels that I've read have given me some food for thought when it comes to characterisation. Even if it's 'oh, I disagree with that interpretation,' it's still something and I think it's worth figuring out what you like for yourself!

For something quite different in tone, I quite enjoyed Death Comes to Pemberley by PD James, a post-canon whodunnit by an experienced crime writer who admitted she couldn't live up to Jane Austen (and didn't, but she was in her nineties when she wrote it so I have to respect that)

The Other Bennet Sister by Janice Hadlow which focused on Mary was largely an enjoyable read, didn't agree with all of the characterisation (Elizabeth was portrayed as being quite mean to Mary which I don't think canon supports) but there was a well-written story with a nice message and it had Austen-y vibes

Letters from Pemberley by Jane Dawkins is an epistolary novel which I liked a lot. It's mostly Elizabeth writing to Jane after their respective marriages. Good vibes and it captured Jane and Elizabeth's dynamic well (although I wasn't fond of the sequel as it was needlessly sad).

The first book in the Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman trilogy by Pamela Aidan called An Assembly Such As This was also a fun read. It follows Darcy's POV until he departs Netherfield. The other two didn't quite live up to it but I do recall enjoying the first one.

I have read around 300 books so far though sometimes I'm tired and I don't sound like I have.

If you recommend music keep in kind that I don't like Rap because of the plain old talking; Hard Rock, I don't like because it is too noisy and some other rocks except Soft Rock).

I am loyal like a Hufflepuff, act like a badger, I am sometimes fair, I am not hard-working though sometimes my body wants to be and I am sometimes modest.
