Harry branded ‘disrespectful’ towards women ‘during Swiss ski trip where he spent night with teen 8 years younger’
PRINCE Harry spouted lewd banter about younger women and made a crude joke involving a shot glass during a wild skiing weekend, a source has revealed. A former pal accused the Duke of Sussex of being disrespectful towards women after the Prince, then 27, spent the night with a teenage British beauty eight years his junior.
Harry, who was single at the time, had travelled to the resort with upper-crust pals including Pelly and Tom Inskip. At the club, the Prince allegedly made the crude remark about the shot glass. The source explained: “There were people in there drinking shots, and with shot glasses balanced on skis and stuff like that. “Harry grabbed a glass and made a joke about it. He was talking in particular about a young British girl, who was about 19 at the time. “Someone took the glass off him though and returned it to the bar. “But it showed what he thought was acceptable banter about girls. It may have been a joke. However, it seemed he was accustomed as a fully paid-up member of the Royal Family to getting what he wanted.
“This appeared to be girls, free drinks and VIP treatment. “His behaviour seems at odds with him now moaning about being a prince and how he was ‘caged’ by it on Netflix and in his book — and saying he’s a feminist.”
On the night out, friends are said to have noticed how Harry had vanished with the teenage girl, who went back to his hotel. He was staying at the £300-a-night Nevai. Our source said: “She was young, attractive and posh. “The next morning I heard Harry had apparently requested that she sign a non-disclosure agreement to stop her talking about their encounter.
And they revealed how the Prince later demanded that the girl sign a non-disclosure agreement in a bid to prevent her speaking out about their encounter. The incident took place when Harry visited a branch of pal Guy Pelly’s nightclub Public in Verbier, in the Swiss Alps.
I am not that surprised by some of the stuff in his book, because he shows he was playing around a lot when he was younger and was not particularly responsible.” The Sun on Sunday knows the name of the woman — who appeared in Tatler magazine while younger and is now married — but has decided not to identify her.
On another occasion, Harry is said to have invited a younger nightclub hostess he met while out in London to royal residence Balmoral, along with his pals. The source explained: “She was a young girl, 21 or 22, and of course she jumped at the chance to go to Balmoral for a shooting weekend. “Harry had seen her working in a club and took a shine to her. “He tended to go for blondes in particular at the time. “She was northern and working class and had an accent — and was extremely attractive.” Harry officially invited her as Guy Pelly’s ‘plus one’ but it was said it was the Prince who seemed to have set his sights on her.
Our source went on: “While she went and enjoyed it, she did not allow anything romantic to happen."
“But I recall Harry criticising her afterwards and mocking her and her accent. That is what Harry was like back then. He can preach about every subject under the sun, but there are a lot of people out there who knew what he was like back then and knew him during his wilder days.”
The source said they decided to speak out about Harry’s behaviour towards girls after the Prince described himself as a feminist.
They said: “I feel this shows hypocrisy by Harry.” Harry made the comment visiting the Tomorrow’s Women Wirral charity with Meghan in Birkenhead in 2019. The charity’s boss Angela Murphy said: “During a discussion Prince Harry, to our delight, declared ‘I’m a feminist’ and highlighted that it is equally important for men to support the movement in female empowerment.” And, in an interview with US activist Gloria Steinem in August 2020, Meghan proudly repeated Harry’s claim. She said: “I love that when he just came in he said, ‘You know that I’m a feminist too. It’s really important to me that you know that.’”
Our source, who saw Prince Harry regularly on the clubbing scene, told how they witnessed the Duke of Sussex’s hell-raising behaviour in Verbier in 2011. They said: “He certainly enjoyed the fact he was an eligible prince back then.” On the same ski trip, Harry is said to have “made a fool of himself” at a restaurant dinner by claiming to be a wine expert. Our source said he ordered an €800 bottle of red wine, but when a pal bought a cheaper bottle and got him to blind taste both, he picked the €35 one as best.

The Duke of Sussex is being forced to wait for a decision about his security arrangements in Britain while officials grapple with protecting an unprecedented nine former prime ministers at once, The Times has learnt. Prince Harry was told he would be granted a risk management board at the end of last year to reassess whether he should receive automatic police protection every time he visits the UK. The review was due to be carried out in March by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec), an independent body overseen by the Home Office that decides which public figures should be given armed protection and at what level. However, it had still not taken place by the end of June.
Now it has become apparent that the Ravec backlog was due, in part, to the body battling to cover top-level security for a high number of VIPs, most notably politicians. It is understood that to cope with demand, officials were ordered to place a temporary pause, understood to have lasted for around four months, on risk management board reviews. A source familiar with the process said: “Harry’s case is not all about Harry. It’s about a much wider situation within the police about the number of former premiers they are now protecting and fewer armed officers available.”When Harry left his role as a working member of the royal family, he was told that he would lose the right to automatic police security when he gave up his official duties.
He is required to give a month’s notice before each visit to the UK, at which point the details and risk of his visit are assessed before security is granted. On each return trip, however, he has been declined full police protectionHis long-running court battle with the Home Office ended in defeat in the Court of Appeal in May 2025. After writing to the home secretary to ask for a security review, he was granted a risk management board only for the process to grind to a halt. It is understood that processing issues put a temporary stop on security assessments.
While Harry was expecting his review this spring, it became clear that Sir Keir Starmer could imminently be forced to leave his role as prime minister. It means that there is now a record number of living former prime ministers, all of whom are automatically granted life-long, round-the-clock security upon leaving office.
That includes Liz Truss, who was in the post for only 49 days.A source with knowledge of the delay said that there were “strains on capacity” of the team tasked with protecting public figures. In the 20th century there were never more than five living former prime ministers at any one time. Starmer is likely to receive a higher level of security than some other former premiers to match the higher threat he faces from hostile states and from his previous job as director of public prosecutions. Last month two men were jailed over an arson attack on a property and car connected to Starmer. They are widely believed to have been ordered from Russia.The unprecedented demand has been coupled with a decrease in the number of firearms officers in England and Wales. Government statistics show a drop in the overall number of deployable armed officers in recent years, with 2026 showing a modest recovery.
The murder trial and misconduct proceedings that were launched against Sergeant Martin Blake for the shooting of Chris Kaba in 2022 has been blamed in part for a reluctance among officers to take up firearms roles. Blake was subsequently cleared of murder but faced a lengthy disciplinary investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct. The number of operationally deployable armed officers in England and Wales was 6,621 in 2019. That fell to a low of 5,753 in 2025 and then recovered to 5,917 in 2026.
The level is higher than the 5,639 recorded in 2016, when “a national armed uplift programme” was introduced to increase the number of firearms officers. It is not known how many of these are trained to protect members of the royal family and other VIPs. The alleged murder of the former minister Ann Widdecombe this month has led to a renewed focus on the security of politicians. Police are examining whether the suspected killer targeted other Reform UK politicians before allegedly attacking Widdecombe, who was the party’s immigration and justice spokesperson.
The chairman of Ravec is due to meet Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform UK, to review his security after the party accused parliament and the government of failing to offer sufficient protection to Reform politicians. Farage said he replaced his government-provided security with private protection after Ravec reduced his protection by 75 per cent in October last year. He revealed that he had received more than 1,500 threats since February, including nearly 600 death threats, predominantly on X. The i Paper reported last month that protecting the eight former prime ministers before Starmer required about 135 officers, at a cost of £13 million. The Home Office and the Metropolitan Police refuse to disclose the cost or number of officers deployed to protect former prime ministers, saying that putting the information in the public domain would jeopardise security. A Home Office spokesperson said: “The UK government’s protective security system is rigorous and proportionate. “It is our long-standing policy not to provide detailed information on those arrangements, as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect individuals’ security.” The Duke of Sussex was approached for comment.
