earlier today there was a woman having to stretch to get the 2-liter sodas off the top shelf and i was standing there debating helping her (she was struggling a bit but always got it before i could step in) and she turned to me and went with a smile "they always put these on the top shelf and it's always such a struggle! like i'm tall and i'm having to reach!" and i went yeah it's certainly a choice! and we had a good chuckle about it because, yeah, they're always just tall enough to be a struggle like what the hell
and then there was a dude with a bloodborne tattoo on his neck and a mantis tattoo on his arm and they were both so cool. he was On A Mission but we were both in the self-checkout area so i went "i like your mantis :]" and his expression didn't change at all as he said "thank you" but i still felt good about it because i mean hey! you never see mantis tattoos! more mantises!!!
idk. i love people. i love when you're in a public space and you can form tiny bonds over tiny things that may or may not leave an impression. you brighten someone's day for just the smallest moment. nothing else matters, not your political affiliation or your race or your gender or sexuality or age or nothing. it's nice. i love talking to strangers for less than half a minute.
