Especially in the last episodes of s3 it's so clear Aureliano and Spadino want their alliance and friendship to work for both families but it's doomed to fail, that's just a desire to be new, different, modern, to abandon violence, just like Romeo and Juliet would have wanted for their families but everyone is against them and everyone dies.
