(Christopher Trevas, Mos Eisley Adventure Set, a 32-page book from the boxed set of the same name, WEG, 1997) This book included scenarios for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game and Star Wars Miniatures Battles, and was bundled with Galaxy Guide 7: Mos Eisley, a large double-sided map of the central city and the cantina, and 12 pewter miniatures.

My interpretation: In the far future, humanity has expanded beyond our solar system and now spans the galaxy. But galactic civilizations need to transport, trade, and organise people and materials. At this mixed space port, passenger, freight, and commercial spaceships can be docked. It is an important hub in this system and is often frequented by massive star cruise ships that transport tourists and workers from star to star. On this occasion, a scientific exploration vessel is approaching the port attempting to seek a birth so its tired crew may find some rest and relaxation at the port before heading back out on another expedition.
