Love it when he does the little nose scrunch 🥺
I also noticed this little habit he does with his nose~
Is it just me or does he seem sad in the new HTMAK interviews :(
Hi Anon, I think I see what you mean—
To be clear, disclaimer: I do not have ANY insight into Zach's psychology, mindset, etc., these are just my observations from what I've watched so far:
The HTMAK interviews seem to be part of a greater A24 press event; they're usually back-to-back-to-back* and these can be fairly draining (and repetitive in tone).
These look to be mostly virtual(?) so there's a different dynamic when an interviewer isn't in the room with you. Zach only has the energy of his castmates to immediately feed off of.
The interviewers typically throw a lot of softball questions. They're not necessarily the most stimulating conversations.
The cast being interviewed are arranged in two rows rather than in a single one, sitting side-by-side.
Zach isn't a lead (so he sits in the second row, behind the two leads), so he's not necessarily addressed first or altogether with the group (this is Glenn's show).
I've seen three four of these videos so far; the one from Comicbook.com shows him laughing hard at jokes from Topher Grace, so I don't think he's like... depressed?
I don't get sad vibes, I get fuck I'm tired and would like to take a nap now vibes.
He takes multiple sips from a can of La Croix; I know I tend to lean on beverages to stay awake/stimulated, or if I'm not feeling well.
Zach is also wearing a black hoodie, and the cast is sitting together against a black background. I think the lack of color makes him look a little drained.
He's fairly subdued in Pay Or Wait's interview:
(seriously, I want to play the damn sad Charlie Brown theme)
La Croix sighting with DC Film Girl; also generally quiet. LOOK AT THOSE SAD EYES
But Comicbook.com's gives me life (and I will likely make a gif set at some point). God bless Topher Grace for making Zach laugh:
That's my two cents!!
