Hey there ~ I'm new here on Tumblr and still finding my way around, but I'm really excited to finally start sharing my art!

This is my very first sketch of my Soulkitty – a little ghostly creature that wanders through my work, carrying pieces of emotion and quiet mystery.

Something’s been growing in the dark.

It watches. It waits. It feels.

Fragments are starting to take shape.

A hand, reaching.

Smoke turning into something almost alive.

And eyes—too many eyes—watching from the silence.

First glimpse into a vision that’s been haunting me for a while.

I’ve been sketching different eyes for my Soulkitty – trying to find ways to express emotion without a face.

Each eye explores a different feeling or inner state, sometimes subtle, sometimes more symbolic.

Some of them include emotes or abstract shapes within the iris – little visual cues that help tell the story.

It’s an ongoing process, but I love how this one element can carry so much emotion, especially when it floats silently above a creature made to be unreadable.

The character has a catlike skull for a head, which leaves little room for traditional facial expressions.

So I started exploring different ways to make its feelings visible. After several sketches, I landed on a concept that felt right: a floating eye above its head, like a watchful spirit, glowing with emotion.

Sometimes that eye changes – into simple emotes or symbols – depending on what the Soulkitty is going through.

It became a kind of emotional antenna. Something quiet, but always watching.

I’m still shaping the visual language around it, but it’s been a meaningful journey so far 🖤
