The Hot-Headed Battle Bunny.
Take the design of the Performer and alter it to be a bunny obsessed with a card game. There ya go!
I don't have much to write home about regarding her design, but everything else about her and what she caused would trump it anyway.
Along with this character came an in-universe game by the name of Warring Souls.
I wanted her to make sense as being a player of that game is a major part of her character so I made a whole ass game with defined rules to go along with her.
Soula has the ability to manipulate objects with her mind. The strength of her telekinesis corresponds with what she's physically capable of. If she's critically injured and unable to move her body, she won't be lifting anything with her mind. If she can't lift a table, it's not happening with her mind either. This also applies if she's manipulating several objects at once.
"...The remote's over there..." - Soula
Beast Form / Monster Form
It was as if she was bred for battle in a past life.
Soula has access to a Beast and Monster form, both changing her physical form and mindset.
Her Beast form enhances her offensive and defensive capabilities. Her knack for strategy falters as she falls back to relying on instinct.
Her Monster form enhances her offensive capabilities tenfold. Strategy goes out the window as she prefers to destroy her problems before they require her to think.
"She's scary when she's mad..."
Blessing of the True Soul
A rare gift, according to the masses.
As a True Soul, Soula is half Spectrez.
She can manifest her Soul Card from her very being, allowing her to summon herself. When summoned, she and her Spectrez self are mentally linked.
She can transform herself into a Soul Card, allowing other Duelists to add her to their Deck. This also means that she herself can participate in Warring Souls battles as a Spectrez. (Don't expect to keep her.)
Outside of the Warring Souls game, she faces none of the restrictions that Duelists and Spectrez have. Meaning she:
Can activate Soul and Heart Cards despite being a Spectrez.
Can activate Ability Cards for herself or other Spectrez.
"You are a True Soul. There is dormant potential in you."
Abilities / Traits (Warring Souls)
A technical Spectrez with a high skill ceiling.
This Spectrez holds a copy of the Ability Cards in your Hand and can activate their effects at will, though the effects of those Cards are moderately weakened.
When Soula activates a Card, it is removed from her Hand and cannot be used again until a cooldown expires.
"Even on the Battlefield, she has the heart of a Duelist!"
Soul Card: Soula (Beast Form)
An all-rounded Spectrez. This Spectrez is properly equipped to handle a variety of situations, neither excelling or underperforming in any area.
She enhances positive effects given to her by a small amount.
"Whatever happens, you're more than prepared."
Soul Card: Soula (Monster Form)
An aggressive Spectrez. She enhances the effects of Offensive and Support Ability Cards used on her by a moderate amount.
"If we don't take her out now, I fear this match will snowball out of our favor."
The time it takes to automatically draw a Card from your Deck is reduced.
"Come on, give me something good already!" - Soula
Heart Card: Demon's Pride
The attack power of you or your Spectrez increases the lower the HP is.
"I'll make you wish that killed me!" - Omnis
Crude, overly competitive but not a sore loser, hot headed, a bit of a slob (her room could be described as an "organized mess"), and, although she relies on minute impulses and gut instinct, can be a surprising tactician when she puts her mind to it.
Though you could say her personality fluctuates in certain areas depending on her current form.
"Shut up and draw a card." - Soula
When Samsara began, all of its events were chronicled in a singular, contained dimension, on a singular, contained timeline. Stories would unfold that would erase it, rewrite it, or cause it to start over. One being by the name of Soularis, now known as the Deity of Dimensions, would grow tired of these interferences. His obsessive desire with leaving Samsara's histories untouched would cultivate into his creation of a powerful spell capable of disrupting time and space. Upon casting this legendary magic, his very being was destroyed; scattered across Samsara's ever expanding domain.
The timeline was fragmented into pieces, each with deviating events and outcomes; some of which led to their own branches being fractured further. History would now be untouchable, as major alterations to a timeline would cause it to break away and continue its story elsewhere. Every fragmented piece could even create its own past to continue forward with no contradictions.
For as long as Samsara's history has been recorded, Soularis' actions were the catalyst for Samsara's infinitely expanding existence.
This is where Everles enters. Located in the far outer realms of Samsara, this world resides in a highly unstable dimension. Creatures known as Spectrez inhabit it, wandering souls inheriting the essence of beings residing in other worlds and timelines. Their relationship with the inhabitants of Everles would evolve into a way of life.
In the city of Poscara, this evolved into a partnership between Duelists and Spectrez. Using their mastery of magic, Spectrez were created and contained within mythical cards that Duelists would wield for various purposes; its most prevalent usage being for a sport by the name of Warring Souls.
Soula was one of those Duelists. Ever since she was a child, she was fascinated by Spectrez and how they represented worlds and stories far beyond her reach. She became obsessed with the game, dedicating her life to it above anything else and using her prize winnings to get by. Once it was discovered that she was a True Soul, a rare half-Spectrez breed, rumors would begin to circulate that she was Soularis reborn.
Well...Soularis was also obsessed with other worlds and things, just like her...she's incredibly skilled at understanding Spectrez and how they work! She sort of looks like how he did too! She's a True Soul; very rare in this society! Her name is Soula! Soularis? Soula? Come on!
Rumors were simply rumors after all. Soula would find herself being hyped up as some sort of almighty force when she saw herself as just a Warring Souls player in low end housing. Even if she was some ancient deity reborn, even if she was some rare breed capable of manifesting great power; who cares? All it sounded like was extra responsibility for her. She was here to play her game and indulge in her interests. Nothing more.
Unfortunately for her, fate often has a way of making itself known. Even worse, making sure everyone plays their part.
"My goal is to be the best Warring Souls player there is! Wanna know what's funny about that? There's always someone better, always someone capable of showing you up. It's a goal that can never be fulfilled. And that's what I'm striving for until I don't want to anymore. Pretty simple to understand." - Soula
