I was told that there would be no rival romances in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, but I've been seeing rather romantic scenes between the romance candidates, specifically Derek x June and Gabriel x Maple.
Derek & June
I've been seeing a few scenes of these together, this feels like a slow burn as they talk to each other, June confides in him about her struggles with talking, Derek is supportive towards here, and through their interactions, there are hints that they are starting to develop feelings for each other, and I'm pretty sure there was a moment where other characters, I think Jules was one of them, were talking to Derek about him possibly having a crush on June. Their who relationship looks like a classic slow burn friends to lovers thing.
Gabriel & Maple
I don't really call much about their interactions, but one cutscene I saw today that was an unsubtle romantic confession. Gabriel and Maple are at his house where they share their art, which featured the other. They act cute, they blush, laugh and talk about how they 'feel the same' and Gabriel asks Maple if she 'wants to stick with him', which can easily be seen as a romantic confession.
I hope there are more interactions like this. Not just other potential couples, but also more DerekXJune and GabrielXMaple. I want to see them act more and more like real couples.
