oh also, re: the art style thing— i think the most telling anecdote i have is how much my art style shifted after 2021. because y’know what changed after 2021? i started taking a shit ton of comics classes, and i just needed to draw faster and more consistently to keep up with my homework. so my style changed, not on purpose, but just because i had to figure out what i could do quickly and consistently but still liked the look of!
just look at this shit! (2021 on the right)
process changes everything. i’ve moved away from comics this year, so i’ve been practicing different processes, and who knows, my art style might start to shift a little again. but that is my silly wisdom :] just do whatever you gotta do
Here are some of the doodles i did in the whiteboard alongside a few prevs :> (looking at doodle-girl)
Also a few doodles/info of the starting of my Veldi-Alex learning ASL
Pull me under, I’m not afraid.
thinking about my otha gang i made. ouh the outlets,,,

Something that really struck me that David said in an interview was that Diego doesn’t know what love is. And it got me thinking, none of them really do.
And I mean, it obviously makes sense, considering how they grew up. But even as adults, they never really learned how to love, or how to be loved, except maybe Klaus.
Diego’s closest to his mom, who’s a robot. And even though he’s convinced that she feels things, is it really the same? I feel like there would always be some shadow of a doubt, somewhere deep down. But does she really? Where do you draw the line between programming and feeling? (I mean, this is a question that’s been tossed around ever since the advancement of robots and AI) And also, there’s sort of this weird disctinction. Grace obviously has been assigned sort of the ‘mom’ spot by the kids, but she was designed as a caretaker. I think there’s also a difference. And then there’s Patch. I think it’s clear that he loved her, but the thing is that he never learned to express that, or how to accept her love in return - and I think that’s a big part of why they didn’t work out.
Allison’s sense of love is incredibly warped, because of her rumors and the way she’s manipulated her life and relationships to fit what she wanted. As painful as Patrick seeing her rumor Claire and the resulting divorce and everything is, I think it was important for her to make her rethink her actions and her life. It’s not really love if you brainwash them into it, but it took a harsh wakeup call for her to realize that. She obviously loves Claire, and that probably made her grow up a lot, but not enough.
Luther is the most isolated of all of them. He spent the last 4 years on the moon, with absolutely 0 face to face interactions, but even before that it’s been implied that he didn’t really leave the house aside from missions. If my only source of human contact was Reginald Hargreeves I’d be an emotionally stunted manchild too.
Vanya, aside from being the odd one out all her childhood, has virtually no self-esteem or sense of self-worth, which is why it’s so easy for Leonard to manipulate her. She thinks she’s in love, and she thinks he loves her, but she really just latched on to the first person to show her attention and affection. That’s not love. That’s the kind of thing abusers take advantage off.
Five and Delores, I mean that’s just on a whole new level. She’s a mannequin. Need I say more? And again, it’s understandable. She was the only thing he had for decades. Being alone for that long would drive anyone mad. Giving her a voice, so to speak, was a means of survival. And it’s certainly a strong emotional attachment, but can you call it really love? Like, is it love the way you love your favorite sweater, or love in the way you love another person? Because that’s a big difference, and I don’t think he can tell that difference.
Ben is a tough one, because we only ever see him interact with Klaus. It’s difficult to make a whole picture out of one piece. But I feel like he might be faring a little better? It’s never explicitly stated that he can talk to other ghosts, but he can definitely see them and interact with them, so this is sorta fringe-canon, but if he could talk to other ghosts I think it might have, at the very least, given him more perspective and he might have learned a little bit about love from them. Granted, that’s still not ideal, but it’s something.
And then we have Klaus. Klaus, who’s never been with another person for more than three weeks until he meets Dave. Dave, who was beautiful, and strong, and vulnerable - and I think that last one is the key. Vulnerability is not something the Hargreeves do well. I think Klaus learned a lot from Dave. And you can actually see the difference in the way he acts with his siblings, after coming back. He’s more emotionally mature, more open, it’s a noticable difference. I think out of all of them, Klaus knows the most about what love is.
And you can certainly make a point that they all love each other, to some extent, but with no one showing them how to do that in a healthy way it’s really no surprise their dynamics are as dysfunctional as they are
AAhh!! some people are reblogging my old taz fanart and i was like,, i need to draw more so,,, I drew some lup, who is kinder and better than everyone in the whole world,, and some handsome kravitts
also i have like a dumb headcannon that everyone had a crush on lup back when they were all in school and she was a little more awkward back then so she didn’t know how to handle it :0
I recognize Kalua from mecharina! She's so cute as a baby, aaaw...
She’s the smallest and youngest outta the bunch… she gotta be.
Kalua’s originally from wildstar and after developing her character more I wanted to adapt her into the SG-verse.
Funny thing is, I did that with Romulus and Remus too in terms of plopping them into this sciency-magical-cowboy universe. At the basis, they’re still very much the same, but they have their own quirks and changes that make them different from SG Rom and Rem.
Both are giant robots, Rom’s a frugal no funny business fatherly figure, while Rem basically adopted his super hero persona (Crimson Hound), tends to break the 4th wall on occasion, and is not the meek teacher character you see here. (He’s a field medic that uses large resonators to attack/heal people.)
Anyways, Kalua’s relationship with her dad will always be cute no matter what universe.
