Idk if the qna is still going but
How would both twins react if they all of a sudden started taking care of a child they found on the streets?
UYGKUYGELIU OMG YES IT’S OPEN, I’M SO SORRY, I WASN’T NOTIFIED BY THIS MESSAGE-
… I’ve also been obsessed with another Pokemon character, but that’s besides the point.
Hm… how would they react in a situation where they adopt a child? That is a question.
If we're talking about pre-postgame, then they're not exactly going to be the softest people around. They clearly care a lot about their legacy and image, so their first reaction would probably be confusion more than anything. Questions like “where did this child come from?” and “why is this our responsibility?” would definitely come up.
The same reaction might happen if we're referring after postgame, I just think they'd be more lenient to adopt to fix their broken image. Refusing such a thing would be cruel to the child and make them look worse. Even if it's a pretty big responsibility, to be fair.
But regardless, if no one else steps in, I can see them reframing it as some kind of noble duty. Not necessarily out of pure kindness, basically more as a way to maintain their image or ego.
That said, that’s just the initial stage. Over time, I think that could shift; especially once they get used to the idea of “this child is part of our family now,” even if they’re not very open about it.
Shielbert would probably take a more structured approach; trying to control the situation and raise the child “properly.” If he got protective, it would come off as very strict or even a bit overbearing at first, since it ties into his need for order and image.
Sordward, on the other hand, would be more reactive. He might get frustrated more easily, but also show attachment in a less controlled way, like being louder about defending the child or getting competitive over who’s doing a better job.
So even if they both end up caring, it’d show in very different ways.
