In Lusatian legends is mentioned mythical creatures such as the Serpent. The Serpent is depicted not as a hostile creature, but rather as a helpful one.
"The Serpent, as it was known in Upper Lusatia, was a dragon. At night, it would fly over the rooftops in the form of a green ray. If someone called out to it, it would enter the house through the chimney. There, it would spit out whatever was requested. In return, it demanded good food and gentle treatment from the hostess. If he was missing something, he would sometimes put a "red rooster" on the roof of the house."
The Snake's favorite food is millet porridge.
