My concise and not at all confusing diagram of Fairy Tail ships.

Cana/Lucy:

It's more vibes than a ship I'm diehard into but I like it more than NaLu or any other wlw Lucy ship--they have actual chemistry and a basis for some drama with the shared daddy issues. Lucy definitely deserves someone as down to earth as Cana and when every other woman in Fairy Tail is Legitimately Insane, it's an easy ship to root for. I really like that Cana is flawed while still interesting as a character and her partnering up with Lucy is one of the best partnerships of the Tenrou arc.

Other WLW ships that I like in Fairy Tail include:

ErzaJane is a crucial, time-honored ship rising on a thermal column of thick BST and contrasting personalities. Knight vs. Demon. Red and white. Sweet versus serious. Aesthetically it's a 10/10.

SoraNerva, also a color contrast and attitude contrast, is like if you took the above and mixed in more knives and evil women. Angel and Minerva is easily my favorite WLW ship of Fairy Tail and I'm very sad it doesn't see more attention. Just the vibes alone are deadly good. One names after powerful spiritual beings close to God, and the other named after a Greek goddess of wisdom and warfare. I finally nutted up and wrote something in this direction.

In similar veins, I achieve serotonin boosts from the ships Ultear/Kagura and Ultear/Minerva. Again, I love evil women and I love women with swords. Ultear and Minerva have this time/space dichotomy thing going on and both being women that back up a lot of power with a strategic approach, while Ultear and Kagura are both women driven to make war by the unforgivable crimes committed against them. If, like me, you're willing to ignore Ultear being the one that possessed Jellal (because it was really stupid), it's even better.

Chendy is a wholesome teenage girl ship and is the only valid Wendy ship for obvious reasons.

On the topic of other WLW ships I have thought of or which have at least popped up on my radar:

Day 2: Flowers

AU where Tartaros wins and Sorano's Angel Power takes over so she can destroy the Faces. To amass enough power, she needs to redeem herself by saving twice as many people as she killed and genuinely change. Sorano wants to save the world, since the rest of Oracion Seis lives in it, but she doesn't think she can change.

Meanwhile, Minerva wasn't defeated by Erza for whatever reason and helped Kyoka beat her. Then she had the crisis of morality, too late to save the world or whatever.

Sorano wants someone strong enough to help her destroy the bombs without the redemption power up and Minerva wants to fix her mistakes no matter what.

Over the course of the story Sorano becomes a better person and by destroying Face she saves enough people to fully redeem herself.

Yoga and Pilates. Minerva took them up very early in life while trying to recover from fighting + keep her body fit, and Angel takes an interest too since she has health issues of her own. Also Minerva looks really sexy doing them but you didn't hear that from her.

Angel has always wished she had brighter eyes. White and blue are her signature colors, and she associates light colors with purity and power. She was considering colored contacts--but Minerva expressly despises the idea. She loves Angel's eyes.

It's one of the few modifications she has ever wanted to make to her appearance. Angel knows she's beautiful, and she goes bare faced most of the time (it drives Minerva crazy) so she pouts a little that Minerva won't let her try this one (1) thing. But she gets over it easily.

(Do not let Angel have access to makeup. She may seem like she's super feminine and well put together, but remember, this is a girl who grew up in a filthy slave tower. Her inexperience shows and it's best that she just work the natural beauty angle--if someone doesn't stop her she creates a mess.)

Minerva gets jealous rather easily which can range from cute to quite unflattering. She's not usually threatened by other women...mostly. She meets Ultear for the first time while hanging out with Angel and Angel's like "yo girl wassup" and Minerva is like "who the FUCK is Ultear??????" it's funny as shit.

Look, Angel has a mean streak when she's pushed and descends into cruelty quite easily...but she's also just genuinely friendly most of the time and with her occasional failure to pick up on social cues, you have a woman that will legit just shoot the shit with her mortal enemies and not realize she's offending them. This is also funny as shit and like half the reason her and Minerva start off so rocky.
