Guys, one thing in Legacy I don't get. In the Lost Cities, everything is based on DNA. So the Council obviously has a database of everyone's DNA sequence in the Registry (this is not a stretch). So Dex could just hack into the registry and find Sophie's 50% matches? Like wdym they don’t have an elvin version of 23 and me? Matchmaking plot, done.

is it so bad that i want to see sophitz thrive again. not even in a shippy way i just need them to BE!!!! now that the cognate inquisition has been done, and all the secrets between them are spilt, show me them repairing the fractures!!!! i want to see sophie telling fitz things again. fitz talking to sophie about his hurt and them getting it out of the way. sure we might not have romantic sophitz anymore but i want bestie sophitz!!!! i want to see them having telepathic conversations in any room NOT to hide things, just for the hell of it!!! i want to see them help each other with homework. i want to see them absolutely demolish any opposing team in base quest. i want my sophitz back :(

I actually do really like Sophitz where the relationship label is neither friends nor dating but "Cognates." It almost feels cheapening to put their relationship to romantic dating tropes when it's about trusting each other with their entire selves—every memory they've ever had! People love to poke fun at Fitz for putting so much importance on the idea of Cognates, but it's clearly an enormous deal, and the fact that they could have that bond makes their relationship arguably the most important in the series. Imagine how much power they could unlock together to defeat the Neverseen with that bond! "But we're Cognates!" Not boyfriend and girlfriend, and not exactly friends either, always. Cognates.
