PlayStation 4 reaches 100 million consoles sold
Sony has sold 3.2 million PlayStation 4 (PS4) units in the first quarter of its 2019 fiscal year, which means that the company has exceeded 100 million game consoles sold globally since they were put up for sale. The PS4 figures reach, since they were put on sale on November 15, 2013, one hundred million units sold globally. According to Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad, it is the domestic console that has reached the one hundred million figure in less time, a record that PlayStation 2 previously held, which took five years and nine months, compared to the five years and seven months of PS4. On the other hand, sales of 'software' reflect an increase in digital downloads. Thus, the company has sold 42.9 million games, assuming downloads 53 percent. As for subscribers to their PlayStation Plus service, the results show that as of June 30 there were 36.2 million users. It is already in the top 6 of the best-selling consoles and the PS4 surely overcome the original PlayStation and has until the end of 2020 to reach the sales of the Ps2 the best selling console in the world.
