I'm afraid I had to shut down the prompts for good, due to many duplicates and people submitting more than 2-3 requests into the inbox during and not during the time slot of the open asks. They mostly hid under Anon, but I have discovered some misclicked, using their name for one and then anon for another, helping me to see who was breaking the rules. Due to this, I can't fully trust the Cutie Community anymore. I'm so sorry, team… It's literally the actions of the few that ruined it for the whole ;-; Due to their actions, I had received waaaayyyy too many prompts. It's overwhelming, unfair, and emotional since I did this project as a way to have fun with my community, not requiring commission requests of a dollar. I feel abused and deceived. I'll probably make a post of who did what, but I also don't want them to get harassed… I just want everyone to be aware and know that this is no longer acceptable, and has caused these unfortunate circumstances. There are many reasons as to why the permanent shutdown happened for prompt requests, but this broke my heart–the last straw that cracked the grandma camel's back. Though, again, I'm also an adult with life stuff going on, so there's that, too XD
I will not be taking requests for fanfictions either, but I do intend to write my own works–including fanfiction! So stay tuned for more exciting updates :3 (I'm not mad at everyone, just disappointed in the few ;)b) I recently published the first chapter of a Kingdom Hearts fanwork, so I hope you know many exciting 'original/fanworks' are coming in the future! 3
I'm so incredibly excited for the 'One-Chapter Challenge!' event! It's where I post one chapter of many different original stories I've had acclimated over the years. ^^ I hope you enjoy that.
I also have plans to update and finish my continuing fanfictions as well as just concluding things. Season 2s have to get started, too. Editing has been a NIGHTMARE so let's hope this loooonnngggg break will serve me–and hopefully, as a result, you patient Cuties–as well!
Amy was picking at some rust that had started building on the ring of her Piko Piko Hammer. She was hanging out on top of some storage boxes when the crowd gave off a sound of shock, and she looked over to see Shadow huffing and puffing.
Silver floated down and looked ready for more, as Shadow raised a hand up and the two lightly smiled in respect, smacking hands together to show an end of the spar.
"Well done." Sonic clapped, looking to Tails as he leaned against another storage box. "You want a turn, bud?"
"Nah, I'm pooped. Who do you think wore down, Shadow?" Tails teased, and Amy smiled at seeing everyone getting along.
She looked back at her hammer… Taking a deep breath, she thought about all the distress calls she had been getting over the intercoms… It was a lot for her heart to handle. Having Sonic back gave her some respite, but its honestly true that she hadn't fought in some time.
"Oh, come on. I'm itching for at least one round." Sonic, antsy as ever, couldn't stay in one place too long.
He stretched out his arms and shook his hands out, walking into the 'boxing' ring the Forces had set up for both entertainment and staying active with exercise.
Those 'illusions' as they were now being called were still everywhere, and sometimes, you didn't have a Wispon on you for safety.
Amy looked around, seeing no one really wanting to go up again THE Sonic The Hedgehog. Recently revived from seemingly the grave, the Forces were too respectful of their 'light of hope' to dare challenge him… even for a friendly spar.
"... Really? No one? Silver?" Sonic held out his arms to the masses, then gestured to Silver, walking over to him but he held up his hands and shook them–along with his head.
"Woa-woa-woah. Sorry, Sonic. Even I need a bit of a breather…" Silver honestly gave him his apology but looked too roughed up to just dart back into the fray.
Sonic's eyes looked a bit perplexed, wondering why everyone was so hesitant. "Come on, guys. I may have been tortured for a couple of months, but I'm not fragile." Sonic struck his signature pose. The back of his heel hit the side-arch of his other foot, then he wagged a finger upwards and turned his head, smirking.
Amy looked back at her hammer, gauging the weight of it. It slowly slipped a little from her grasp, and she lazily brought it back to herself, balancing it on her teetering palm. She realized… Sonic probably didn't want to be treated any differently. He hated the 'special' treatment when it came to things like competition or sports… It's why he rode an Airgear or drove a Car when competing in other events.
It was really him verses himself, mostly… challenging his own limits was something Sonic just naturally did on his own… far before Eggman ever showed up…
Amy finally sighed and jumped down, "I'll take you on!" She cheered, as the crowd gasped and moved aside for her to walk through them.
With her hammer over her shoulder, she gave a small curtsey to Sonic, still being lady-like as she then struck her hammer down to her side, creating an echoing, hollow bang that carried throughout the bunker…
However, when Sonic turned to address her, he looked… disappointed?
"Amy…" he groaned slightly, and she knew that look.
Back when they met with the Babylon Rogues, he had made the same face and same responsive look of weariness… Turning away from her and looking down at the ground.
She didn't 'like' that look, per se, but she knew how to counter it.
"Alright with a friendly spar against an old friend, Sonic?"
Amy looked behind her to see Knuckles, who jokingly sneered and 'heh'd out the side of his jeering smirk.
He bobbed his chin up slightly, encouraging Amy to stand her ground.
She smiled, he must of known she hadn't 'stretched her hammer arm' in quite sometime, too.
"We all need a little stress reliever." She commented, "Wouldn't hurt to take someone on, right?"
Sonic slowly stood towards her, pivoting and adjusting his footing to do so. He gave a weak hand out as he gestured with it to speak, which made Amy feel like he was faking being tired.
"It's not that I don't think it'd be fair, it's just…"
"Something the matter?" Amy knew energy picked Sonic right up! She would give him that, and twirled her hammer about.
The crowd was in awe, 'Ooh'ing at her skill and precision with the hammer. She threw it up after a few baton twirls and caught it behind her, winking to Sonic and striking a pose with her leg up.
The crowd roared in approval, clapping and cheering.
"Heh," That did it. Sonic's smirk returned, and he looked more determined now.
There's nothing Sonic wouldn't do to please his own ego.
He punched the air a few times, jumped for the crowd with a spinning kick, and landed with fighter's bob–one foot behind him and the other in front, lightly moving back and forth in soft hops.
"You're right, Amy! Knuckles! Can't let my friends rust away like old bones..!"
He charged with super speed at Amy, who immediately went to spin her hammer in front of herself as a guard… but he jumped to the left…
Was it a false start? A bait and jab?
She jumped the opposite way, not pursuing, and stood to await his next charge.
But… he rounded the crowd, watching her as the crowd reached out to try and have his quills touch their fingertips… very much like fans do.
"Ow!" Sonic rocked a moment, feeling some spines on his hedgehog head had gotten pulled out. He rubbed and scratched at it, moving away from the crowd.
Someone cried out, "Hey! Don't do that!" To defend Sonic, but Sonic paid it no mind.
He wasn't used to the crowds being so close during any of his adventures, but it was an enclosed space. That, and there were kids and their families about taking shelter from the Egg-Empire out there… One might have just gotten excited.
He really, seriously didn't dwell on it as he noticed Amy getting confused.
Her expressions were always so easily seen on her face… He smiled, thinking that her tells were cute but exploitable.
He had to be subtle, he supposed…
He saw her moving to the center of the boxing ring, perhaps thinking he was trying to corral her in and attack her from the sides… she'd have no mobility but plenty of time to pivot swiftly if she just needed to turn to block his attacks.
He purposefully slowed down… He had heard that she had suffered the most when he was cooped up and beaten down by Zavok for revenge.
He spun into a ball and began to run into her hammer. Any time she lifted it, he perfectly hit against it, skidding to a turn when he was knocked away.
'What's he doing..?' Amy thought, noticing how she was 'constantly' hitting him away.
"Sonic… You-!" Noticing he was going too easy on her, she walloped a strong swing, like a pro golfer to see if he would allow himself to take the hit.
Sure enough, he hadn't gauged the strength before ramming into the center of her hammer, and getting flown off across the wide expanse of the underground bunker.
The crowd gave horrified cries before he landed his feet, legs bent against one of the horizontally structured support beams in the rafters above.
He grinned, he could tell she hit him hard as a way to scold him for making her look so good…
"What's wrong, Amy?" He teased, "Don't like winning?"
She growled out of the side of her mouth, playing along. "Not when it's not earned, Sonic! Come on…" She took a finger out and wiggled it as a 'come 'ere' gesture, egging him into coming back down. "Don't want me to notice you've been kissing the face of my hammer..?"
His eye twitched, his grip on the beam steadied himself but he launched off of it and went for a punch.
Amy had plenty of time to dodge, bending back and flipping her body about to dodge his on-coming-...
Ugh… He was still being too slow!
"That does it!" Her eyebrow twitched, and she gave off a flurry of blows he blocked with his bare–er, uh–gloved hands.
These were blunt, direct hits to his fists… He must be feeling that…
"Sonic..!" She was getting annoyed now, "Why aren't you fighting me? For real!" She huffed as she threw her hammer to make one of his arms go flying up and behind him.
She rammed the top of her hammer into his stomach, forcing him to hobble back and lose his footing.
"You're never this way with the others!"
Her mad expression made Sonic sweat a little bit down the side of his face, giving a false smile as he grew a bit nervous.
"You sure this isn't wearing you out already, Amy?" He didn't mean to come off insulting; he just didn't realize how much pent-up energy she really had.
Yes, she had been depressed, but that never stopped her heart from hoping.
In her dreams, she felt he was alive, and never gave up that spark. She kept it close to herself, and when the time came that it was announced to the Forces that their hero was recovering instantly from his trauma, she let it all go.
She had cried in joy, she had felt the weight come off in relief.
She had felt that, even if the rest of the world accepted Sonic's disappearance as his death, she would hold on and be the last source of light remaining till the end of the world…
"You're disregarding me..!" She felt her grip on her hammer's hilt tighten. "You're putting to shame all the hope I built for you!"
Sonic was caught offguard and lowered his fists.
She held her hammer down by her side, bending her legs, shaking her arms that were finally feeling a heat to them which hadn't happened in a long, long time…
"I worked so hard… I made sure no one lost hope in you… I, especially, wouldn't back down!" She lowered her head.
The crowd listened in… even Knuckles, Tails, Shadow, and Silver were all ears on this one…
They had seen how his disappearance impacted her… They were wondering if she was offended by his 'taking it easy with her' stance throughout the fight.
Yes, they could tell he was also faking a real sparring match with her, too.
"I had prayed and hoped that you would gain your strength back. That you would come back in a blaze of glory… to take back the lands we've lost!"
The whole of the crowd went silent, but everyone's hands were on their hearts.
She lifted her head up, furious..!
"Don't take our righteous desires to have you well and in fighting shape… and put them to shame!"
Sonic was deeply touched.
His eyes softened as the bottom of his eyelids came up. "Amy…" This time, there was a silent appreciation to his breathless voice… Not a groan, not looking away, but acceptance that Amy wasn't so easily 'tired out' at all.
She was eternally tenacious and spunky.
As though his theme song was playing in his head, he launched as though a gust of wind, his knee coming into Amy's forehead and pushing her back.
He pushed off of her as she stumbled, flew up into the air, and spun as he crashed his head directly against hers yet again… causing her to fall as he rolled into a ball and jabbed her stomach once before uncurling and looking behind him at the carnage.
Amy–hilariously–spread out on the ground and gave a wheezy, "Ahhh…" As the last of her air came out at such a quick turnaround by Sonic.
A kid in the crowd went, "Ouchie."
The crowd immediately gave Sonic's his laurels with cheers, but then also clapped and gave honors to Amy's bravery and speech as well.
Sonic smiled and turned to take a knee and extend his hand out to Amy. "You did ask for it." He said that with a tenderness that only Amy could pick up on, as she sighed and took his hand, letting her help him up.
As he did, she whammed her hammer down on his head, causing the crowd to flinch and cringe back, "Oooohh…"
"Yep, I didn't deserve that." Sonic kid, and flopped to the ground.
Amy giggled slightly, pulling the hammer away and propping him back up, too. "That's for the sly comment in the beginning." She flipped her hair back, "But don't worry…" She gave him a small kiss on the cheek. "That's for being handsomely kind about taking me seriously."
He rolled his eyes as the crowd 'aw'd.
He wiped the kiss off his cheek, "You take too many liberties,... Amy." He gave her a playful look and she just giggled and blushed.
However… later on… Amy started hearing 'ding!'s on her Miles-Electric. It was so late at night, she was snuggled so wonderfully in her comfy, large but dusty blankets that she wondered if something horrible had happened.
She rolled over in her military-like bedding and picked up the device.
Her eyes shrunk at what she read.
Later, a meeting was called, as Knuckles was giving orders out to Sonic, Little Sonic, and the rest of the crew before holding up Amy's Miles-Electric.
She held her arm as he addressed the threatening messages… So many of them… Claiming Amy was fake, petty, and disrespected Sonic that she should be banished to the cruel metallic world outside of the bunker. Apparently, someone had misunderstood her battle with Sonic, and took to taking a stand against it.
"That's stupid." Sonic shook his head out, putting his hands defensively on his hips, "Me and Amy always have tufts, same as the rest of you." He gestured to Amy, who sweetly found that an odd reply, but shrugged as she wasn't sure how to go about someone 'actively hating her' either…
"Either way, we can't stand for this division." Knuckles placed the Miles-Electric down on the table, then put both–large and mittened hands–down on the counter. "I've asked Tails to track the culprit. They sound hostile and fanatical. We can't have tensions rising over crude matters like this. We have Infinite to worry about… People's emotions are already slowly cracking their resolves… We can't let things like this spiral out of our control. We'll lose them. More than any of our current losses can make up for…"
Silver looked at the device, then to Amy. "Are you… gonna be okay staying at the base? With all this going on… We're worried about you." He was correct to suspect some malicious trick coming if things didn't get handled shortly.
"Is there anything we can do?" Tails took the Miles-Electric, "These are highly secured channels amongst the few of us… I'm surprised anyone even got a hold of one to send such threats across…" He began to click some buttons, looking into it right away.
"... My question is… Have you noticed anything radical towards your return, Sonic? With any unusual interactions with anyone?" Shadow investigated directly at the source of idolization… Sonic himself.
Sonic folded his arms, shifting his weight, thinking hard as he stared at the ground… he was already pretty upset by this news… Who would want to hurt Amy?
"... There was… something." He looked away, as everyone pulled in closer.
"During the match with Amy… someone pulled out some of my quills." He pointed to the area, "I figured some kid got excited, but it was… stronger than that. It felt intentional." He then dropped the hand and looked to Little Him. "I think protecting Amy should be handled… Let's get the new Recruit to do it!"
Little Sonic nodded, sitting up on the table with his feet wiggling every now and then before agreeing with Sonic that this would be a good job for them.
Knuckles nodded, "Alright, that's a good call." He looked to the Recruit, who's eyes glazed over to Knuckles, then Amy…
"Think you've got what it takes to keep her safe?"
The Recruit nodded, taking it what looked like… seriously…
The Recruit knew who the culprit was…
And when they came to try and hurt Amy, used their grappling cord to fight them away.
Amy had no idea, neither did the rest of the team.
The Rookie single-handedly took down the fanatic, and reported the missing quills to Sonic…
After taking them in his hands, he gripped them hard within his grasp, nodding.
"Thanks." He simply said, but he was gritting his teeth.
Little Sonic worriedly looked between the two.
Sonic pulled back his emotions, giving the best smile he could to them. "Rookie, this means a lot. I know I can trust you now." He nodded to them, "I'm gonna tell the others… and check on Amy."
The Recruit saluted, but… They put a hand on Sonic's shoulder, as though to comfort him.
After their interaction, Amy was attacked again.
Sonic and the others soon realized that it wasn't just one person… the Recruit was also apart of a terrible fanclub… They were removed from position and Amy was put permanently back on Coms… They didn't want to risk her getting involved in social dramas again…
She was out of the public eye… cooped up in a small room with a head-mic and multiple screens again…
Little Sonic delivered her some soup and a warm beverage.
She patted his head, thanking him, before noticing a note.
Reading it… Amy covered her mouth, and rushed to the surface above the bunker.
There, she found Sonic. After the battle, he had set up in the desolate wasteland a…
"To think… There was a whole organization trying to hurt you…" Sonic had been pretty pleasant the evening, except for this one moment.
Amy stopped eating her sandwich to watch him, wondering how to comfort him after he believed the corrupted Recruit.
"It's not your fault, Sonic." She put a hand to his shoulder, and he remembered what the Recruit did.
He gently moved her hand from his shoulder… back to the blanket… but left his hand on top of hers.
"It doesn't make it right… I should have… I keep thinking everything's alright now. But during the match… I wonder if I should have said more about how we naturally are… How could anyone hate you, Amy?"
That last line hit her. His downcasted gaze as though he had failed somehow…
"Oh, Sonic. They don't know you like I know you." Amy took her hand and lightly rubbed by his ears…
He didn't even try to stop her… Which showed how lost in his thoughts he was.
"Nothing Infinite did or said got to me… I knew I could handle it and everyone would be okay." Sonic admitted.
"But you…" He lifted his head, looking into her emerald, kind eyes now. "Amy… What if I take you for granted?"
Amy pulled back her hand and giggled into it.
"I admit, I was pretty scared." She pulled her legs up under her hooped skirt, moving them off to the side. "But… you still are doubting my abilities, Sonic."
She pulled out her hammer, pointing to the rust that used to be there.
"I'm used to people thinking something weird about us… How I'm the fanatical one." She snickered, but Sonic narrowed his eyes, not liking how jokingly she was being about that.
"Doesn't that… hurt you, though?"
"Do you think I'm crazed?" She lifted an eyebrow up, and Sonic pulled back his lips into his mouth.
She gasped and went to strike him but he took her wrists to stop her. Allowing her to overpower him, he laid on the picnic blanket as she climbed over him.
"You-! I'm tougher than that, Sonic The Hedgehog!"
"You are my biggest fan!"
"Ooohhh..! I'm not a weird zealot, Sonic!"
"You are my most devoted, though."
She kicked about but realized… he wasn't letting her get off of him either.
"Huh?" She looked at her position… then back down at him.
Her hammer rested by his face, as he seemed to just… be taking her in.
Their expressions turned into a timeless moment… and for the first time… Amy really noticed Sonic's eyes trying to… She wasn't sure.
Was he memorizing her? Taking in the sun behind them, the open sky behind her head..?
No… He was truly appreciating her. Inside and out, he was realizing how much her influence in his life meant to him… to saving the world, too.
"I believe in you, too." He said it so softly… She got spooked!
She tried to move off of him, "W-What's gotten into you, Sonic? I didn't get knocked out or anything-woah!"
She was pulled back to now laying on his chest… blushing at how odd this behavior was from him.
Placing his mouth by her three propped-up bangs, he took a deep breath.
"Back when I was being tortured… They would say awful things about the war… Lies to try and break me… Nothing ever stuck, though. I knew you guys would pull through… I gave you the same faith you gave to me, Amy… And for someone, or for any other people outside of who really know us, to accuse you of being fake… or dishonest… or not really rooting for each other..? Doesn't that mean I should have threats towards me by your zealot fans, too?"
"... N-... No one really likes me like we all like you, Sonic…" She smushed her nose into his chest, trying to hold back being emotional… it was hard, she was already feeling her chest building with the warmth that didn't feel comfortable… it was like tears about to gush out of her eyes and all her fears and anxiety coming up all at once.
That would overwhelm him… That wouldn't be good-
Something wet hit her head.
Sonic sniffled, letting her go and pulling her away as he rubbed his eyes, pulling his head completely back so Amy couldn't see him.
Amy moved off of him, but realizing men don't like to be seen as 'emotional' darted her eyes about and looked away…
She faced her back to him… but couldn't help but… peek over her shoulder, seeing him lift a leg up and kick it towards the sky.
"Screw fans! Screw fanatics..! Can't friends just be happy picking on each other, sometimes? Aren't we allowed to scrap and buttheads, at times?"
"Aren't we supposed to hold back against a girl in a fight? Think about them first before ourselves? Realize they've been hurting… they've been hurting because of you for so long… that it's only right to hold back how much you've been hurting? Thinking you could have failed them?"
Amy's smile disappeared, replaced by understanding.
Empathy overtook her, and she lay down by Sonic's side, as he kept spouting out more of what must have been kept so close to his chest… that it was only now coming out once Eggman and Infinite had been truly defeated at last…
"Aren't we allowed to just be ourselves? Be flawed. Worried about the other. Have misunderstandings. Be vulnerable towards each other… Nothing can stop me from wanting to save or protect my friends… Your words were so you, Amy… You're not fake, or a fake 'fan' either. You're my friend. You know me. It's gonna take some stupid idiot to think you're not."
"Stop,... stop it, you're gonna make me crrryyy..!"
Amy's eyes burst with cartoony tears and Sonic was already covering his own. He peeked and burst out laughing.
He clutched his stomach, lifting his feet up to kick them out a moment. "I've been all over the world… I can't say I 'hate' people… but they really shouldn't think they know me, or my friends, either."
"... I was pretty scared… but I never gave up on you, Sonic. And even though we trusted the wrong people… there were plenty of Recruits and Rookies who do love and support us… I think… Some people just take it too far, sometimes…"
"Yeah… Let's just forget about people." Sonic turned and hugged her, and it made her squee.
"War is a weird thing." Amy commented, "Makes people do weird stuff…"
"Yeah… Well, I'm more determined than ever to make sure we never have another war again!"
Amy laughed through her tears…
She had never felt more loved and known than in that moment… where Sonic and her were the only two people in the world… so it felt like… so it seemed…
WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN–A LOOSE CANON FIRE FROM AN EGGBOT. SONIC JUMPS UP WITH AMY IN HAND, CHARGING FORTH AND TAKES IT OUT AND-
Ah, you know… cause you can't let these 'for kids' charas just sit there and be mushy, right? Right, Sega? Right!? Can't just let them sit in their emotions for too long, RIGHT!? -9... -shaking my fist-
