Deiderick/Sam - Scars 

Ooh fun one yissss. I can go on abt this stuff all day TBH.

Kyne - He high key thought it was stupid and low key thought it was kind of intimidating, and didn’t really know how to recognize it at first because it didn’t fit the preconceived notion in his head. He was always afraid of calling something love, it’s much easier to stay with like and attraction and easy, shallow things but the deep end and all the risks of literally putting yourself in a position to be so vulnerable to someone else was just terrifying to him. It wasn’t until after he realized he was in deep that he saw that love wasn’t some terrifying thing because he was in deep /with someone else/, not on his own left to drown in it and honestly he doesn’t know why he was ever afraid. His way of love is soft and casual and gentle and feels much more natural to him than he ever expected.

Somi - he thinks it’s stupid, why would he ever care about someone other than himself- except now he has and he can’t stand the idea of losing them. He values them more than himself and it troubles him, because what does that mean if he were to ever lose them, if they were to ever leave? He still doesn’t know what to do with the feeling and he’s frustrated - why isn’t it easy, why does it hurt him to do anything but accept it? He’s likely to run from it and bury it but at the same time, once he comes face to face with the idea that there /is/ someone he loves, he wants to chase after that as much as he wants to run away. His way of love is devotion and admiration, so long as he doesn’t run from it, stronger than he knows how to force into working for him but when he stops fighting it, he finds it takes him to exactly where he needs to be.

Zeke - for Zeke, love always seemed like something distant and forbidden, not for him, not something he ever would come across. Often he feels undeserving or like he’s not entitled to it, but when given just a small amount he finds himself wanting to take all of it, to absorb it and give it back tenfold in response. He’s grateful for every moment, every touch, every heartbeat and every breath and he doesn’t want to waste any of it; he’s felt love’s absence - often for far too long - and never wants to be without it again. His way of love is appreciation, gentle care and quiet smiles and treasured small things. He finds himself giving himself wholly to it, at first because he feels it’s the only way he could come close to showing appreciation and then after because he realizes that he /is/ worthy of love.

Attie- Attie views love with rose colored glasses and a soft sigh. He’s always been a romantic, always quick to fall and quick to swoon, weak for a hero from books. He doesn’t want to see the difficulties until it’s too late, and even when he does, even when he has to face them, he still chooses to see the love in it. His love goes beyond the romantic, loving his friends and his family and opening his heart to anyone he passes. He doesn’t seem to hold many hateful thoughts. His love is big with open arms, heart wide open and ready to share the warmth with others. Even when he’s hurt he knows that love is still here for him, maybe in the same way, but it’s there.
