This mint green and mocha-colored ball gown, designed by Cecil Beaton, was created for the 1964 film adaptation of ๐ด๐ ๐ญ๐๐๐ ๐ณ๐๐ ๐, where it was worn by an extra during the Embassy Ball scene. The gown may be a fully original antique piece or partially constructed from antique materialsโsomething Beaton was known to have done for this production. ย The gown made a brief, blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance on an extra in the beloved 1980 film ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ป๐๐๐. ย In 2016, the dress was offered at auction by Profiles in History (now defunct following its partnership with Heritage Auctions) but went unsold. It was one of several specialty ๐ด๐ ๐ญ๐๐๐ ๐ณ๐๐ ๐ lots released directly from the Warner Bros. Archive and was likely returned there after the auction. ย See the full auction listing and description at Bit.ly/VicEd328 ย
