dude what if, instead of popping out of your box at people like 'hi hello let me take you away from your boring and terrible lives to my timespace adventures, forever (oruntilyougetkilledmindwipedtrappedinaparalleldimensionorgetsickofmyshitandleave)' you actually like, developed actual friendships, maybe with more than one person at a time? if you actually participated in their lives as well? if you had a community rather than individual people you sold on your benevolent godfather schtick, 'look what i can do for you, i can give you everything' and never saying the corollary 'so depend on me, need me, love me' not even admitting it to yourself. what if you, yes, often had someone along for the ride, one of your friends, for an agreed-upon stretch of time, at which point they get returned to their lives and you stay friends with them, but also learned to be alone? your actions aren't someone else's responsibility and you are perfectly capable of learning how to reign in your megalomaniacal tendencies by yourself. indeed, you have a responsibility to do just that. what if you did your thing and sometimes thought 'you know who would REALLY APPRECIATE this planet of diamonds, Jackie Tyler' and then went and got her - or even CALLED AHEAD to figure out when she was free, because expecting humans to drop everything and pay attention to you is a form of contempt for their lives when you're not there. and, dude, you are not better than jackie tyler. you aren't.
