About 19 chapters into WHA and I can now safely say that I regret not checking this series out earlier.
Gorgeously drawn, great main cast, and the magic system within the series is so unique. I absolutely love how Kamome Shirahama breaks down all the little details surrounding each spell. They have a functional practicality to them, but need someone who is good at brain storming at the helm to bring them to reality. This really helps sell the metaphor that this is the arts. There are no easy or instant solutions, and you only climb the ladder through meticulous, potentially grueling work.
Thereās also lots of narratively fun stuff going on in the background to keep you interested/intrigued in the worldās lore. For instance, the series loves to focus on Qifreyās kindness towards his students, but never lets the audience forget he also has Big Secrets. What are the villains goals and intentions with Coco? Is Agott simply an arrogant person, or does she have a troubled past? Yeah, the story is excellent thus far.
