For what it's worth, I do appreciate that Sombron's villainy is his choice and not his nature
Just like his kids, even he wasn't born evil. He became evil after getting chased out of his homeworld and he gained the title of Fell Dragon because he made the conscious choice to hurt others
That could've been an interesting contrast with Lumera
What were the actions that led to each of them being worshiped as a sovereign and a demon respectively? A Divine Dragon must show care into behaving like a paragon. A Fell Dragon can do whatever they want and still gets worshiped like a deity

The Engage manga revealed who the Emblem of Foundations is and I'm conflicted
Personally, I prefer the idea of the Zero Emblem being a mystery because it adds to Sombron's obsession. He's chasing someone who's long gone despite barely remembering who they are. He's so consumed by his grief that he's wasted thousands of years chasing a phantom
That said, the character choice itself is solid. Spoiler warning
Anri is actually the exact opposite of how Sombron described him
Sombron idolizes the Zero Emblem because he didn't need anyone else and was powerful without bonds. However, Anri wasn't like that. One of the things we know about him was that he fell in love with a woman he could never be with. It's stated that after she was married (not by choice), Anri remained single for the rest of his life
It's strongly implies that he died with a broken heart
So if Anri really is the Zero Emblem, that would mean Sombron's projecting his own identity onto Anri to validate himself. Contrary to Sombron's own beliefs, Anri was also someone who craved bonds and most likely left him in Elyos to build his own bonds and hopefully not die alone like he did
Overall, while I would prefer to maintain the mystery, Anri really is the perfect choice they could've made
