As a kid, Soap, on top of being obsessed with football and wanting to become a professional player - as a goalie, thank you very much! - was absolutely obsessed with fixing electronics.
It first became apparent when he managed to fix the very old and decrepit television his 6th grade teacher used to show old educational videos on - he unscrewed the back, got a look at the graphics card and other wires and began working on them.
He managed to figure out where the fault in connectivity was before the teacher even realized what was going on.
Later, he brought that knowledge of mechanics to his job with the SAS and specialized in weaponry.
send me an ask with a prompt for the headcanon meme ♥
I’m not sure I’ve got a favourite tag, but I find the “Idiots to Lovers” one highly appropriate for Johnlock.
As for the wildest AU, I think my Horselock fic The Horse and his Doctor is pretty wild and unusual even for an AU. It tends to confuse people who don’t really know what to expect. Kudos to all who’ve given the fic a read anyway ;)
I'm actually. Not working on anything right now 🙈. I haven't written anything since the beginning of summer. The last thing I've been working on was The Old Guard fic and you know how it starts ; )
(If this was hell, Nicolo thought, his mind frantic, then the pope was a fucking liar.)
49. What do you find the hardest to write in a story, the beginning, the middle or the end?
Definitely the middle! I love beginnings, they are like, chill for a little, get to know those characters and the world before shit happens; and the endings are just, you gather all your threads to resolve them in better or worse manner; but the middle??? A clusterfuck of events that don't want to make sense together and never behave like you'd like them to, no thanks.
What’s the most research you ever put into a book?
It was definitely for Exit Wounds. And it was mainly because I spent 10 years without writing anything at all that I was (am) very self-conscious about my choices. That's why it feels like I'm waiting for my readers with a broken bottle in the notes sometimes.
But yeah, I read a lot, like a lot. And it still feels like it wasn't enough, especially because Yeong's rank does not make sense, and the navy works differently in every country, and so on. Since I don't know Korean I had to rely a lot on the website of the local naval academy, so much that sometimes I still get ads saying "Heeeeey, you could 🥺👉👈 enlist"
The wip of doom has been as challenging, especially to get some of the places that Yeong visits right. And I've annoyed literally all of my friends asking them questions about their respective areas of expertise, from museums and stolen objects, to how human resources work, international affairs, diplomacy, etc. I've read a lot about music too. I spent one hour watching figure skating videos for two lines of the story once.
21. Post the last sentence you wrote in one of your WIP’s.
(I’m giving you two :D)
Yeong feels Hyeon-min’s fingers running through his hair, a soft kiss that he places on his temple, his mom’s warm hand petting his back. It’s been a while since he felt such a strong surge of emotions, relief, gratitude, love.

For the fanfic ask game: You like art and literature and find both important. You like languages and how words can unite people. And music.
Honestly, that's quite accurate, but it sounds like I'm an intellectualTM and cool when in reality I spent the whole weekend whining because I can't get used to my new glasses ahaha.
My line of business requires me to know a bit of everything, or at least enough to understand certain topics. And I honestly wish I knew just a tiny bit more, or to have just one big area of expertise but well ahaha.
I think I went really heavy on the references in EW and WITT because I thought those were going to be my first and lasts stories so I felt like I needed to give them my all. And here you have me trying to finish the second to last chapter of the wip of doom (and with two other stories in mind).
8. Is what you like to write the same as what you like to read?
Hmmm mostly? I always write what I'd like to read, but there are also some things I like to read that I would never write (bc I lack skills or knowledge for it or it's not rly within my writing style).
14. At what point in writing do you come up with a title?
Listen I either have title that comes with the idea for what I want to write or I can't come up with the title at all and do some blind stabbing at random words to get it, there is no in between. (I hate titles, why things need titles????)
