my theory is that someone at lucasfilm was so impressed with how rian johnson developed Rey and Ben's relationship that they agreed that he should adapt Revan and Bastila's relationship for the big screen
if that ever happens, it will be interesting to see what the discourse looks like, who will like it (the reylos obviously will) and who would dislike it (antis, obviously, but will anyone still hate rian johnson at that point?)
this is also just me wanting to see their story in film or even TV mode - enemies to lovers with the added messy, complex moral questions? absolutely, please give it to me! I'd even kill for a book at this point. maybe I should save up money to bind a particularly good fanfic...
