soliders table having a field trip and a gift giving morning, meanwhile occtis and vaelus with great eye bags just staring at each other like
Just realized how fucking funny it is that Teor had no problem with going back to Dol-Makjar where House Halovar tried to get rid of him, but got scared about the Golden Orchard on the off chance Skinner has a cousin there. Very Travis imo.
Honestly one of my favorite thematic throughlines of the soldiers table being loyalty. Thimble's loyalty-as-friendship with complexity of being gifted/finding companionship that entails, and her putting down roots in the mortal realm while attempting to keep loyalty to the fae in her own way. Tyranny and Wicander foiling that in many ways, and attempting to find a sense of being in themselves and beside each other at the unraveling of good and evil and demon and angel and faith and light as "given" concepts. The loyalty to a family Wick is figuring out has been misplaced all this time (and having to choose). The loyalty as faith that Tyranny has in Wick, and articulating as much in a quest to be saved that she believes is futile (and realising she has the responsibility of choosing too). Loyalty as crafted in action and vision in the falconers rebellion. Loyalty to memory. Loyalty to a cause believed fallen. The complicated loyalty of Teor, both to the torn banner he carries with him and the brother he hasn't seen in years (and having to choose). Loyalty as a soul-bond between ranger and familiar, of Kattigan seeing himself as continuous with nature. The lingering pull that brought him back from his isolation. Loyalty bought and traded as bargaining chip, it's sharp sting and bitterness in Casimir who said, "there is no loyalty."
The inherent conflict in all of these loyalties, competing ones even, being invested now in keeping each other alive, which asks for it's own form of loyalty.
Loyalty is that which distinguishes a soldier from a warrior, not honour, not might, not even courage. A soldier of what? A solider of what?

FUCK IT COLSE ENOUGH! welcome back F.C.G
Now that we're done with the seekers table, my rambling personal impressions comparing the first two tables:
The seekers came in swinging while it took until the knife talk in ep6 for me to really get into the soliders table.
Conversely, the soliders ended on a massive high note while the last two seeker episodes suffered from the very dry and long exposition dumps and a final episode that was mostly pointless except for a few great moments between the characters.
Tyranny still my goat (pun intended) and the one who's further development i care the most about.
Speaking of the last two seekers episodes, i feel vindicated that Aranessa did not take away from the group and really made it better while she was there. I feel like the lack of any (on screen) NPCs the players care about made the world feel smaller and less alive. It's not fully on Brennan cause the players just didn't engage with the two people they decided should go with them, but it was a bit disappointing. Meanwhile, the soliders talked with and cared about so many fascinating npcs.
As others pointed out, it's kinda neat how the soliders trip brought them together much closer and the seekers trip created rifts between them.
