unpopular opinion: he literally carried the show all three seasons...it’s not even close to the same now that he’s gone lmao and like i love the series as it is and i would never change it or anything but i have speculated before on how it could’ve gone if instead of focusing on alfred’s legacy and the unification of england it just focused on alfred’s lifetime specifically and we could’ve seen a more in-depth exploration of his achievements and the things he did. i know the point of the whole story has always been about uhtred getting bebbanburg back and alfred was his key to doing that but still i want more alfred than what we got smh lmao
