#sofie's oc

Drawn for a group on DA to fit with one of the monthly themes. Decided to try the more emotional one. Because I really need to work on those kinds of things. As for the pic itself. I thought Linda would be a perfect candidate for it. Especially after the loss of her father, an event I will not go into detail on, she was left with the burden of ruling the Torakian empire and fix the wrong doings of her father. But as terrible as Manfred's last time was, Linda never stopped loving or caring about her father, she spent a lot of time and effort into trying to save him from himself (and the strange advisor that showed up after he mother's disappearance). Unfortunately she was unable to help him, all she could do was to be with him when he took his last breath. She is filled with guilt, thinking that if she noticed sooner then maybe she would still have her father with her and alive. All she can do now is mourn his death that now weigh her down more than the responsibility of the empire, and cling on to the hope that maybe one day she can forgive herself and be the queen her father believed she could be. Anyway! I hope you all like it ^^ I know the shading is a off, but I admit I got lazy and frustrated with it.

Figured I post this here since I plan to shade this pic later. For now I’m just stuck on what to name this lady. I really want to use her for one of my projects. In general I do believe I need to work on body types... Tbh... I’m still not fully decided on her ethnicity either now when I think about it. Damn how tricky things have to be when you want to bring in new characters.

13: What would your character die for?         For everything she believes in. Oooor pretty much she the safety of her fellow magicians. She will do what is needed as long as they are safe.16: What other fictional characters remind you of your character?       Sadly I have forgotten her name. But a ruler in a book by Niklas Krog called "En härskares själ" (been a long time since I read it). You have a woman there who go to very extreme length to do what she think is right for her people… Even if it really isn’t as good as she thinks. 20: What is the most surprising thing about your character?      Just how far she is willing to go for her believes. I already stated she is willing to die for her believes, but she is also willing to kill for it all while thinking “for the greater good”. 36: Does anyone want to harm your character?       At first, no. But things will develop enough for her to get A LOT of enemies. Some is among the people she is trying to protect as well. 50: What is your favorite thing about your character?      Most likely I would say that it is just she is someone with such strong believes that what she is doing is the right thing and will be better for everyone, despite her view being a bit… off eventually. Pretty much I love her confidence and leadership even when it all starts to blind her from other things.

4: Does anyone have a crush on your character? Is your character aware of this?          In the beginning of the story, no. How ever later on there will be someone who develop a crush on her, and yes, she is aware of it since he is very open about it. Only way to miss it would be if she lived on a different planet. 7: How does your character feel about their name?     Her real name? She isn’t that much of a fan of it since she feel like it doesn’t really suit her, but she keeps it since it was picked out by one of her brothers so it still means something to her. As for the nickname Red? She likes it mostly because she find it funny to hear peoples theories behind why and how she got that nickname. 37: Do people have justified grudges against your character?       Story wise? Well… yes. A lot of people do not like soldiers in general in Torak since they are the ones behind mass arrests of people that doesn’t full fill the king’s orders and/or have a lifestyle that doesn’t suit the king’s taste. So because of that grudges have been built up against not only Red, but also others in the same profession. 43: What is your character insecure about?       Mostly her leadership abilities. Sure she doesn’t let it stop her, but she always have that nagging feeling of “what if?” about her decisions and if they are really the right ones. Especially since the safety of her platoon tend to depend on it. 54: What is the saddest thing about your character’s life?       Nothing is really that sad. But she does live in a country where she as a woman really had t struggle to get where she is, since women usually aren’t allowed in the army. As far as women’s rights, they are not really highly developed in Torak (unlike some of the other countries). So really the saddest thing is just her struggling with getting to do what she want to.

3: What is your character’s least favorite memory?    Pretty much anything linked to his life as a “pet” to a nobleman. But if a specific memory should be mentioned it would be when he was shown up as a entertainment by his owner and having people touch his ears and teeth to check if they were real. 13: What would your character die for?       To remain free. There is no way he will ever return to being a nobleman’s possession alive. Though he most likely would die to protect the people he let get close to him too of course. 20: What is the most surprising thing about your character?       Besides that he is part of a race thought to be extinct? Or that he actually care a lot more than he is willing to show?… Well most likely the most surprising would be that he is a child’s greatest idol without him evening knowing it (note that said child pretty much lives in a guild nearby too). 40: What would be your character’s favorite school subject?       He most likely would prefer gym classes. Though music probably would be a close second. 59: What is your least favorite thing about your character?       Hmm…. Hard one… Most obvious would be to say his rude personality, buuuut I think I will have to go with that he is so wary of letting people close to him. Even with the reason he got for not letting people get to know him, it also kinda makes him think the absolute worse about them and their action. Even if said actions are done with good intent he could easily start thinking they will just back stab him later. Which leads to him having a hard time making friends, or people he would feel fully relaxed around. Soooo… yeah. I will go with his trust issues.

20. which oc do you think has changed the most since you made them?     There is no contest here. It’s Pekka. That guy when I first made him (before I started working on WoA and he was a fancharacter pretty much) he was the most horrible mess of a character (I know a lot of my old friends can agree there XD If not they should XD). Pretty much he was a Gary Stu. But since then I have done changes to him not only appearance wise. but also some huge changes when it comes to his personality so he would become more… well… balanced and appealing as a character.

5. are any of your ocs based off of a show/book you like? if so, who?    Hmm…. I can’t deny that a lot of books and TV shows do inspire me, but I don’t know if I could claim I based an of my OCs of them…  Well… Except Prospero I guess XD I think that most people could tell he is kinda based on… well… Prospero from Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Though he kinda ended up developing his own personality and such in the way anyway XD 11. do you have any twin ocs?     Yes I do. First to pop into mind would be Isador and Isadora.Though I also have fully identical twins too.15. would you ever give up any of your ocs?      Well, I actually have done that before. Sometimes I just have no use for a character or feel there is nothing I can do with it. So I tend to either let them fall into the forgotten oooor I ask around if one of my friends want it. 21. who is your newest oc? optional- doodle them to show!      …. Weeeell… I have two that comes to mind. One is here and the other here. Sorry for the not so good quality camera pics of it all XD But basically it’s my take on Death (for several of my projects) and the other is Tenari Lazuri, who is part of all WoA projects.
