GODS FUCKING DAMN YOU TUMBLR!!!!

I fucking ***hate*** censorship! I have every content filter turned off, yet Tumblr still hides everything from me, including tons of truly harmless stuff. In fact, nearly everything I've seen censored since the Yahoo purchase has been incorrectly flagged as adult content. The filters don't work, and are far, far too aggressive.

I just had a post pop-up in my feed, hidden behind a "potentially mature content" wall. So I clicked on it to reveal an incredibly well done painting of a woman, holding a spear, in a combat pose. She was wearing a modern dress, and there was nothing "inappropriate" about this picture at all, except probably the fact that she was a strong and confident woman. 🙄

So, I wanted to get the mature label removed, if possible, and opened up the menu. The only option that looked right was a "Suggest Content Label" option. Sure! I'd like to suggest that this not be flagged as porn. Thanks! So I clicked it, and ***the post fucking vanish!***, replaced with a little green message saying thanks for the report. Fuck! No!

To whomever posted that painting. I definitely want to see it. I'm sorry about Tumblr's bullshit.

I hate that Yahoo! fucking lied to the public about censoring Tumblr when they bought it. I hate that the censorship exists at all. I hate that the "just let me view this" controls don't fucking work.

Censorship is a crime against humanity as far as I'm concerned. It is a crime against human thought, and has been shown time and time again to be the first steps taken to oppress, control, and dehumanize people, which is why religions often rely so heavily on it, and why teach about "thought crimes" and "bad words".
