Never underestimate your power to influence the future through your childrearing practices today 😊 Today my husband took our 14-year-old on a biking trip with his #MTB friends (who are mostly adults, mix of businessmen, pastors/priests, and sports enthusiasts). In the evening, it's his date night at the tennis court with our 9-year-old. He's originally a basketball kind of guy, but COVID-19 is changing the way we socialize, so we learn to live with that. Now the young boys know which activities allow for sufficient social distancing and which ones don't. They're also meeting new friends and learning from other people. I'm sharing this because I'm just so happy for both my husband and I to be able to have the opportunity to share the same interests and hobbies with our children, even the same social circle! All these are possible because we took a 180° turn and embraced a sober life. When one of our life coaches said six years ago that I had quit smoking/drinking if I was to get on the road to recovery with my husband, I was scared! I didn't know how else to live. Then this happened. There's nowhere else I'd rather be or do than with these amazing persons, living sober lives, one day at a time. #lifeinrecovery #sobermom #recoverywarrior #sobernotboring #soberissexy #soberiscool #sobernotdead #justfortoday #familygoals #Parenting #intentionalparenting #raisingboys #parentingboys https://www.instagram.com/p/CCtZ6zLDfHx/?igshid=1w3sjlr5ftyja
