He caught her scent before he saw her, a familiar mixture of coffee grounds and smoke. It tickled his nose to the point that had he not stopped breathing for a moment, it would have made him sneeze. Indeed, he had a very worried look on his face when she appeared but luckily, she startled his sneeze away and he was able to take full stock of the elven woman. Both crimson eyebrows rose in question more so at her liberated appearance than the physical act of appearing.
Favrielle and he had once not seen eye to eye though now, there was no one else that rivaled the bond he held with his sister warlock. Curiously, he tilted his head to the side, taking in the full effect that was Favrielle Emberdusk and just how much she hid from the world.
There was a beauty in the transformation and while he could all but besmirch his own changes, he reveled in hers. An unsure, diminutive smile touched his lips as she smiled at him. Radiant. Adoring. Wait. Adoring? That was not an emotion that usually painted Favrielle’s face when she looked upon him. Where was the furrow of the eyebrows? The sour, disapproving look at having once more, disappeared for months at a time?
Displeased, he looked down at his meal at her initial comment. It had been but a lost soul that wandered too far into the Ghostlands and met with one of many Reapers that stalked the shadows. A corpse now and nothing more. “I believe your gardens already have enough fertilizer. Besides, I do not like to play with my food once its...deceased.” He paid no more attention to his expired meal and frowned at her positively glowing self.
Edging closer to her, he leaned forward and sniffed her. “Home is where I make it, Favrielle. I rather enjoy my squirreling and it allows for...surprises when I come back to the social circle.” He paused, lips thinning in thought. ”You smell ... different.” He was squinting at her, eyeing her suspiciously from top of horn to the tips of her boots. He took stock of her body language and his realization needed confirmation. “Are you....with child?”
