,Day One: Halloween decoration shopping.
Warnings: none A/n: I've been itching to do some fics for resident evil characters so prepare to be sick of me this month. Proofread?: yes

You shrink into your hoodie as the cold air slaps your face. Earlier, you had pulled your hood over your head and tightened the drawstrings, but it still seems not to be enough to fight back the autumn breeze. Your teeth were chattering and your vision was half blocked by the hood.
Perhaps you underestimated the weather today.
Donna stared at you. “I told you to dress warmer” Her quiet voice spoke, recalling her previous scolding about the weather.
You insisted on being fine with wearing only your hoodie, but now you regretted not listening to her. You could do nothing but nod in defeat.
Donna stopped her movement. You shifted your body towards her after hearing her steps pause. She loosened the scarf around her neck, moving it to your face, wrapping it around your neck and pulling part of it up over your nose.
“You didn’t have to give this to me.” You said, voice muffled by the scarf.
“I know.” You feel her hand grab onto yours and she begins pulling you down the street.
After a bit more walking you hear a store bell ring. You move the scarf down and let out a sigh of relief. Luckily the store had heat flowing through the building.
Donna shifted closer to you, and her hold on your hand became tighter.
“Are you going to be okay?” You rub your thumb over her hand.
“..I’ll be fine.” She mumbled. You hear a slight tremble in her tone.
“We only need a few things, then we can leave.” You tell her. Donna nods and this time you pull her along the way.
You enter the Halloween-themed aisle that was filled with goofy skulls and animated witches doing their signature cackle.
Donna planned to make her own decorations for the house, she even pulled some older things from past Halloweens.
However, you wanted some paint and didn’t want to use up any of Donna’s.
“I just wonder why you didn’t ask Alcina for paint. I’m sure she has many different kinds.”
You flinch just hearing her name being mentioned. The last time you crossed paths with the flamboyant woman was when you were hanging out with Daniela.
It was both of your first times meeting each other. She was extremely intimidating, and you’re sure you made a fool of yourself in front of her.
“She probably didn’t want to be bothered, which I understand since she runs a whole company-“ Donna’s quiet laughter interrupted you.
“Cara Mia, Alcina isn’t going to do anything to you, especially with me around.” Your face became warm hearing the nickname, completely ignoring the rest of what she said.
You ended up finding the paint near the end of the aisle. As you browsed through the different brands, Donna’s presence drifted away from you.
Something caught her attention. On the shelf sat a singular porcelain doll holding up a crescent moon. The doll wore a black dress with blue pearlescent. It also had a black crown on.
The small doll was beautiful, and you could understand why she was so entranced by it.
“We can get it if you want.” You suggested. Donna jolted. Maybe a little too intrigued by the woeful doll. She even forgot she was in public.
“No, I was just looking.” Donna walked away from the glass doll to browse the other decorations. You knew that was a lie and stepped towards the doll anyway. Just as you were about to reach out to the doll Donna calls out to you.
“You think this would look good sitting outside. It looks silly but nothing some paint can’t fix.” She raised the skeleton up to you. On the price tag, it seems the store clerks named it.
“Bob? They named this thing Bob?” You said in disbelief.
“Such a unique name for a skeleton hm?” She joked. The thing looked silly. For heaven’s sake, it even had the ridiculous googly eyes in the sockets. But you needed more props. Yes, there were the old ones but they looked as if they’ve been passed down 4 generations.
You nod reluctantly. Like Donna said, maybe you could decorate it and give it more spook than stupid.
You hear Donna mumbling to herself as you begin to walk back down the aisle. However, you couldn’t hear due to the rattling of the skeleton.
You set the small cart on top of the end of the conveyor belt, placing the divider bar behind the next person in line. Donna carefully placed the skeleton prop down and helped you take out the items.
She put each paint on the conveyor belt and you feel her slowly take out the porcelain doll, holding it up to get a better look.
“..You didn’t have to get this for me.” She carefully sat it down.
“Well I wanted to and it's a gift so now you have to accept it,” You say, placing the cart down on the floor.
Donna gets ready to protest but the cashier speaks to her.
“Cash or card ma’am.” The young man’s monotone voice cut through your conversation. You pull out a yellow card, swiping it on the card reader and stuffing it back into your pocket.
You pick up the ridiculous-looking skeleton, and your bag of paints and make your way out the door. Donna wasn’t that far behind you, holding the doll in her hands carefully.
You flinch once again as the cold air immediately wipes off the warmth from your body. You stop moving to tighten the drawstrings around your hoodie, but then you feel her bump into you.
“Oh- I'm sorry. It’s just so beautiful” She raised it up so you could see it.
The doll's blue sheen was easier to see when the light hit it. Looking at it now, it was really high quality for being sold at a discount store.
You laughed at Donna’s excitement. “Yes, it is.” You said. She wasn’t so amazed by it at first glance, you wondered where the enthusiasm came from. It was honestly cute.
You went back to covering yourself in the scarf she gave you. You kept rewrapping and rewrapping but you couldn’t get it to feel like it did when Donna did it.
“Hold this” Donna put the doll in your hand and took her scarf from the other. She raised it up in front of your mouth and paused. You watch her awkwardly look around, making sure people weren’t looking, before placing a kiss on your lips.
You were surprised. This is one of the few times she shows affection in public, other than sticking to your side like glue. Your free hand moved to hold her waist and you leaned into the kiss more.
You feel her break the kiss after a few seconds, “Thank you, Dolcezza,” Donna said quietly.
You smiled, staring into her eyes before cupping her cheek and kissing the scar on her face. Donna yelped.
Her entire face and ears were red. The entire reaction made you laugh. She wrapped the scarf around your mouth quickly and took the doll from your hand. Her entire face and ears were red. The entire reaction made you laugh.
“Uhm, l-let’s go home” Donna stuttered. She began to speed walk away from you. However, you were laughing so hard you couldn’t keep up.
“Wait-“ The skeleton dropped out of your arms, making you laugh harder.
“Wait for me!” You tried to catch your breath but it didn’t help. A huge gap in between you both had formed and you couldn't seem to close it because of your laughter, but at least you were much warmer compared to before.
