The Fourth Lord

Shireen eyed the bridge before her, and the factory beyond that, with caution, but stepped forward regardless. Her stag figurine, charred and injured as it was, was held tightly in one hand, while the other clutched her shawl about her shoulders and neck to protect herself from the harsh, winter wind. The villagers had taken one look at her and turned their backs, as to be expected from her appearance she supposed. Even back home, there were people who believed she was still potentially contagious and tended to give her a wide berth.Ā
The scarred princess could not blame them, not truly. To die of greyscale was a truly terrible way to go.
She still did not know how she had gotten here, some days ago now. The young girl had been wandering the halls of Winterfell, and then she had been in a forest with what she thought to be wolves howling into the night all about her, but out of sight... After she had reached the village, she had quickly learned to keep to herself; and, while keeping her presence discreet, had overheard some information about where she was.
There was an overarching ruler that the people here dubbedĀ āMother Mirandaā, and she sounded so much like Melisandre that the thought of approaching her had barely crossed the girlās mind. Serving under her were, apparently, four lords. She had been put off going to the castle when she had heard the women call itĀ āa place of blood and deathā. The lord out by the mines seemed out of her reach as she would have to travel near a body of water to get there and, if she fell in, she was sure to drown as she cannot swim.Ā
That left two; a doll maker and an engineer. She had thought of the doll maker, but then heard talk of the strange visions that the villagers suffered when they dared approach that particular lordās estate, and how many did not return from even the woods there to tell their tales.
Heisenberg, and his factory, it was then.
Crossing the bridge, bowing into the cold to keep herself warm, Shireen approached the gates to the factory- thankfully open- and entered the grounds.Ā
āHello?ā she called on opening a door into the building.Ā āHello, is anyone there?āĀ
