#snowshine

The landship corridor is quiet, humming softly, thats when a cold breeze drifts up beside you like a wandering snowflake. Shivering you look over at the person, snowshine. You slowly blinked awake, waiting to see what she wants, but nothing.

She doesn’t say anything. Just staring at you with her eyebrows slightly furrowed.

“…You’re warm,” she remarks, crouching down to your level and glancing at you from under her lashes. Too close to be accidental.

When you stare back, she tilts her head, white hair catching the light of the lamp at your desk.

“Most people shy away from the cold,” she continues, voice low, smooth. “But you don’t.”

She reaches out, hugging your arm gently, brushing the sudden snow from your sleeve. with a faint smile she hugs you tighter, your eyes narrowing just a little, “careful, you might melt all over the wires."

A pause. Then she smiles, her ear twitching slightly.

“ah! sorry-” You watch as she lets go and sits down against the hard medical bed, “you know I’d hate to lose such a rare source of warmth.” she stares at your hand, seemingly waiting for you to respond. when you don't, she sighs and flops over on top of your stomach. "Are you mad at me?" She traces the wrinkles over your bed sheet, still waiting for your voice. "Thank you." You see her ear twitching again before a big sigh leaves her body for the second time.

"You didn't answer me!" Bracing herself against her palms she slides up your body so her face was impossibly close to yours, grinning as she sees your eyes widen from her sudden boldness. "I promise to shield you forever, you know that right?" She smirks before you looking away from her prying eyes, "Maybe be a little faster next time then."
