Norway's Northern Lights by CamHadlowPhotography The northern lights, also known as the aurora borealis, are a natural phenomenon that can be seen in the night sky in wintertime in Norway. Norway's peak season for the Northern Lights is between late September and the beginning of April, though that's to do more with the long, dark nights at this time of year.

Somehow, summer rarely inspires me - there is too much light, too many colors and details. Winter simplifies everything. Isolated colds and warms create tonal contrast and build quiet tension.
