Hello! In the anime episode 83 forest scene, I was wondering if Hanji tells Levi "I'm sure you have your own regrets" or "I know you want revenge"? If I'm not wrong the former is the correct translation of Hanji's line in the manga!
yes,the former is correct. OR "you may have deep regrets".(だろうdoes not need to be translated into the tone with certainty)
the latter was simply made up casually I think, OTL
I've seen some JP levihan fans on twitter say levi was kind to hanji in the anime unlike the manga and they could feel his his love not just hanji's love. some of them even said in the manga they could feel hanji's loneliness and levi's focus being on erwin and the promise and not on hanji. I wonder where is this coming from like there was not much of a change in the dialog or the facial expressions? what do you think the differences between manga and anime that made some ppl think that?
Hello!!
Well, this change is either from other shippers perspective changing to support LH or neutral people joining the fandom actually?
Because, if LHs there have the same or approximately vision we have here in Western, then we all always thought that Levi wasn't being all about the promise in 126, I think...
And exactly - there was not much of a change in the dialog. As for the the facial expressions, tho, if anything, I would said that the anime DID make it even more clear that Levi was thinking ahead (or beyond "just killing of Zeke"). Levi is a walking joke of "I will kill monkey" in Western; and while most reactions I have seen still makes fun of "Levi woke up already thinking on killing Zeke!" and "All this man wants to do is kill Zeke and then he'll die", I thankfully saw some more anime watchers countering this thought, and highlighting how much Levi lost in his life and his trials.
Funny thing too - some few late anime watchers weren't even remembering what happened LOL It's funny to see this mix of readers, old anime watchers, anime onlies, new anime onlies all talking at once haha
Hello! Thank you for awesome blog!
I was wondering what exactly Levi says to Magath about killing Zeke? I ask because in some translations I've come across "All I want is killing Zeke"/ "my main goal is to kill Zeke", but in others he simply says "My goal is to kill Zeke" so could you please translate the scene from both the manga + anime?
Thanks in advance!
thanks for your kind words!
my goal is...to kill Zeke...
Nothing more.
The anime didn't change his line
Hi, Ness! How do you rate the so long waited forest scene? From 1-10?
I'd give it a 9/10!
God, I wished they'd given it more space to breathe tho. I imagined the silences to be heavier and more contemplative to really drive in the hopelessness of the situation. But I can understand why they needed the pacing quicker for this episode, since there were a ton of loose ends to be tied. Plus I can play the scene on loop anyway lmao.
But the rest of it was SO GOOD. The more times you watch it, the better it becomes. Mappa nailed the atmosphere, lighting, and the mood as they always do. I was surprised when Hange got yeeted into the paths with Levi immediately after IFKK, which was kind of funny in second watch because talk about unfortunate timing ahahahaha
Hange and Levi looked gorgeous as always, and the soft looks they gave each other was EVERYTHING ugh. Plus Romi Park and Hiroshi Kamiya nailed the scene s o well. They were the absolute highlight of the forest scene for me.
Yeah no blushy lil Hange or more well-defined Levi muscles (admit it, his back looks much more beefier in the manga) but I'll take it. It was a pretty good adaptation all in all and I'm glad that the scene is finally animated so I can cry to it and pretend 132 doesn't exist.
